I'd say everyone has what appeals to them and they are drawn to it. People are drawn to issued they feel would benefit them and vice-versa.

The example you gave has nothing to do with social issues. Social issues are problems that affect a section of the society.

What I gave was a general example.

It is more accurate to say an irrelevant example, because it has no relevance to the issue.

I suppose my first question is best left unanswered because answering it may stir up a hornet's nest.
