  • Holy Thursday or Maundy Thursday - a day of Suffering Week. According to Eastern Christianity, it is the sixth day of Holy Week, ie five days after Lazarus Saturday and four after Palm Sunday. And according to Western Christianity, it is the fifth day of the passionate week, ie four days after Palm Sunday. This day commemorates the holy washing of the feet, the Last Supper, the teaching of the terrible mysteries, the High Priestly supernatural prayer, and the very betrayal of Christ.

  • Also in some Orthodox churches is practiced the ritual washing of the feet of the apostles, about which the Holy Apostle and Evangelist John writes in the Gospel. Who Christ washed their feet and showed them an example of humility and humility, as well as an example of love and sacrifice by serving one another.

  • We Christians also have a custom that we do every year on this day early in the morning before sunrise, the housewives paint the first Easter eggs. First they eat some bread, turn east, cross themselves and color the first three red eggs. The first egg, goddess, after being painted is left to "catch" the first rays of the sun, and then the children wake up and with it a "Red-white" is made on their face. The little boy is kept all year round, until next Holy Thursday, and only this egg does not rot! The other eggs are painted in different colors and in different ways.
