How can a business build trust when marketing alone isn’t enough?
Marketing alone will never build trust.
Trust is built one person at a time. One incident at a time. One problem at a time. One surprise at a time. One show of appreciation at a time. One ‘confirmation the prospect or buyer made the right choice’ at a time.
And, like building trust with a person, almost every situation is different.
There are thousands of businesses. And each one has different prospects and customer or clients. And every business has different trust issues.
So you. Red a unique answer, not some generic one. But without the research I couldn’t help. So let me give three examples and then an exercise:
1- Sears had trust problems way back when they started. So they used the promise of “Satisfaction Guaranteed or your Money Back” and then honored it! For over 100 years this motto was over the door of every entrance and exit of every location.
2- Hyundai had a trust issue when they got started with a quickly building poor reputation for both quality and reliability. So management made some big changes and to prove it , they guaranteed the cars for 10 years! And Hyundai today is doing great.
3- a client who was selling an online course. He had a trust issue for many reasons. I suggested he make one change and it almost doubled his response rate from 2.33 to 4.56 overnight. He added a 110% No Questions Asked Money Back Guarantee.
