Why is Business a Numbers Game?
In sales, the rule is that the more people you talk to, the more sales you will have, business is counting money at the end of the day, week, month, and year. It happens many times that the numbers are big and at the same time that the company operates with a minus, that is because they did not pay close attention to small details about costs. I know a lot of creative people and projects that have made big money, millions, and basically lost everything due to miscalculation of costs. There is another part of the story and that is that only the defence in the cost zone cannot take the company and the project forward, investments in creative development are needed. There is no essence if the balance of attack and defence is balanced, marketing and sales are attacks and the organization of costs and the financial part of the investment story are defence, together they give a strong result. The game of numbers is important in everything, but it must never become a brake on development and fat, that is what drives things and innovations, success depends on creative moves.
