Here’s a quick 10-minute routine to boost your motivation, designed to be practical and effective:

Set a Clear Intention (2 min): Pick one specific task or goal to focus on. Write it down in a single sentence, like “I will finish drafting this email.” Clarity reduces overwhelm and gives you a target.

Move Your Body (3 min): Do a quick physical activity—10 push-ups, a brisk walk around the room, or some jumping jacks. Physical movement increases blood flow, releases endorphins, and shakes off sluggishness. Studies show even short bursts of exercise can improve mood and focus.

Breathe Deeply (2 min): Try a simple breathing exercise: inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 4, exhale for 4. Repeat 5-6 times. This calms your mind, reduces stress, and primes you for action by oxygenating your brain.

Visualise Success (1 min): Close your eyes and picture yourself completing your task with confidence. Imagine the satisfaction of finishing. Visualisation primes your brain to act by creating a mental rehearsal of success.

Quick Reward Setup (1 min): Promise yourself a small reward for starting or completing the task, like a coffee break or 5 minutes of a favourite show. This taps into your brain’s reward system, making action more appealing.

Start Tiny (1 min): Commit to just 5 minutes of work on your task. Starting small lowers resistance. Often, the beginning is the hardest part, and momentum will carry you forward.
