RE: Competition between Similar Communities

I don't think there's any competition between Communities here - what should it be about?

When several communities with the same or comparable profiles are opened, I think personalities often play a role: certain users are offended by others and want to consciously set themselves apart.

Somehow everything is just like in real life... ;-))

Sort:

It doesn't feel to me either that Communities compete to... win? Is there anything to win if you stand for something? It can be we ware mistaken since we both go or search for a topic and that topic cannot be found everywhere. At least I can't and I don't want my posts to end up in irrelevant communities.

Let's see what @nsijoro his answer will be and if he has experienced something or specific in mind.

Thanks for stopping by I wish you a great weekend.

If you read through my post, you will see where I wrote a merger, yes it a business term, pairing with someone who has an idea of running things better but who will ever what someone with an idea to share in what he started, the other person has something in mind, so he create a community, those who were in the previous community will definitely pull back or maybe the number of active participant will likely reduce,

it might not be like they both are competing but it is obvious it is a competition, reduction in the number of active members.

The only this that make us exceptional is the ideas we bring in but does that mean we have to create communities just because an idea seems to be missing out of the predecessor, No. but at the same time will the predecessor accept the new engrant at this point I will say opening a community is not a bad idea, It isn't. Tracing back how many are still kept alive.

A competitor as define by dictionaries is a person who owns similar business in the same industry and I am not right if I say the competition is on a competition, if he isn't then bring more people to the platform have interest in what you want to do and let them become active members.

For Moderators It is not an easy work, if some should take up that position in multiple community, he/she must have a good device, I must tell you from my experience it hasn't been easy, but why not give others the chance to be called one, the issue of acceptance is another reason why people create a community which i will term a trial community, to have a taste of how an admin or a moderator looks like, to see how they can perform and if they are less motivated they back down. I am speaking from what I feel in me, because sometime ago I wanted to give it a trail but patience did it work. @wakeupkitty resign from a community she went in to offer help but one or two reason make her resign, that is normal for new communities though not applicable to all, business experience ups and down too.

@wakeupkitty.pal reading others minds is by reading our too, and in a system with a specific order of rules we arrive at the same answer even though we follow different path, I have a lot to write but let me leave it for other replies

I fimd it hard to follow what you mean to say. I don't care if you or someone else is a moderator. Why should I? I think this task is overrated and so are the reports and the attitude of many moderators. They should welcome the members, read their entries for real, comment, upvote and engage. Next to that they can act if they notice plagiarism or AI-text if this is against the rule of a community. If they would act this way members might feel welcome and stay. What do you think about that?

There are plenty communities where is posted without joining a contest or being paid to do so.

Aren't people not always pairing with someone they benefit from? Ideas, money, protection you name it. The question is it this abuse should be accepted especially if there's nothing in return.

One or two reasons made me resign? Are you kidding me? A lot more has happened behind the screens.

Start your own community,be the mod,the one with the great ideas but if you do so it is you who has to work for it, invest your Steem, comment, engage, promote it 24/7 and not me.

Try to explain to me why someone likes to be a moderator.
I wrote about it and the moderator report but so far no response.

What is it you expect to receive or achieve if you are a moderator?
Just like you I am a mobile phone user and one with a slow internet connection. Why is it more difficult for you as it is for me? And if this is the case why is it you want to be a moderator in more than one community?

No one ever paid me for being a mod. Are you willing to do the same? Writing yourself to death, trying to earn to grow someone else's community being lied to?

I am not sure what the system is you live in or refee to but it is a free world, free platform, you can write wherever you like, about what you likw. You can start your community, be competitive if you want to or let it be. Since I have no idea what the question is I don't know if we arrive at the same answer. It feels to me we don't.
