The Communities... I see quite a few that are interchangeable and don't fulfil any particular purpose in my eyes. Others, such as national or regional ones, for example, already fulfil the needs of many users to network and use the same language. Others that deal with specific topics - travelling, animals, sports,... - people who are interested in exactly that.
The role of communities is very important for supporting writers. But there's an important point to consider: when a community grows, and especially when it's time to support people, someone from that same community creates a new community under a different name. And then people start separating, and the old community is closed, and the power is taken down. Have you ever paid attention to this? Isn't this a malpractice against writers?
The Role of Communities
Are writers loyal to a community? Most are not unless the writer has a niche and the community stands for a topic that fits to the content.
Communities for natives only can fulfill the role of a chatbox, inform about Steemit, teach, show the way and host a good contest per week with a topic that has the interest of this nation.
Is SP needed to chat, or change to a new better version? I don't think so.
I want my story between stories and not in an average blog community or one that is flooded with diaries.
#art #film #stories #painting #photography #pets #cooking #sports #parenting #entertainment #health all deserve their own community, a place where the topic counts not nationality, the language you speak, religion (own community), politics (own community) or the size of your wallet.
Great...
communities created according to topics, it will make things easier for writers. Sharing posts on the same topic in the related community has the advantage of using proper(relevant) Tags and increasing the chances of visibility. And it's also easier for readers.
That was the idea as Steemit started. An extra plus might be if with those communities the right hashtags can be selected that is.. if those communities know what they stand for. Most don't. Also, hashtags should be international, and the first 4 counts. You cannot expect anyone to promote Steemit if the author cannot promote his content.
The fact is communities are messy, chaotic and content can't be found. What helps is if witin one community hosts of contests start using the same hashtags and stick to it. They community can make a list, pin it, to tell the poster which ones are used but also make it easier for readers and curators to find a certain topic. It's really not as complicated as it sounds if certain rules are followed.
Example:
first hashtag: community (topic) for example entertainment, betterlife, steemladies
2nd hashtag: topic content for example: sports, choices, education, fun
3rd hashtag: subtopic for example basketball, job, language, memes

Unfortunately this is not so easy...
Way back we were told that the tag #contest is only related to the announcement of posts.
Well, it is truly not the case despite all efforts.
My opinion... just let it flow.
🍀♥️
Die plesier was myne vriendin.
Slaap lekker 🍀♥️
No es difícil como lo dices.
Could it be. If a Community's concept and personnel are designed to be supportive and not restrictive.
Could it be. But it can also be an announcement: You've chosen the wrong Community, you don't fit in with us. Take a better look! Seriously: why should an author voluntarily be active in a Community that he considers abusive or untrustworthy...?
That's what I mean. Let's go for themes, topic, the place we fit in, feel good and does our content good, It's not about being the biggest off Steemit but about staying close to what was intended at the moment a community was created.
Many lost themselves and went for the "big money"ohters remained themselves and are doing well. There's no need to compare with others if it's the topic and with that the content counts.
If I join one about "cooking" I have certain expectations - recipes for example - and don't want to read the next diary.
A community for diaries might be a hit.
One for each age, country, profession, entertainment, and the scheduled ones sharing their timetables.
#thediarygame could use a facelift or perhaps those empty communities can fill this void.
Or perhaps this is why I focus more on tags instead of communities. Because (a few) very few communities are active for a long time. And many communities which doesn't last long due to different mindsets. That's why most communities will seem silent to you. Because disagreements arise there after some time.
Disagreement or lack of interest or started with the wrong mindset?
Without the need to go for SEC, to moderate or upvote a community can run itself.
