The Impact of AI on Society

With last AI waves, I am sharing here some of my thoughts about it. In this post I am reflecting about the Impact of AI on Society.

—THE RECENTLY events that will become old soon
As everybody knows, last days it seems like a new disruption is arriving to our lives. It was already surprising the amazing way AI-tools were influencing on our daily life. But recently, it is coming like the Coronavirus— all around the world in question of days (or hours?) assumed there was a new much more powerful AI-tool: Deep seek. And it was the intensifying of cold war (again?).
In last weeks I am learning English like in one semester at University when I did my B. A. In French. I am comparing how I felt my advances in French on those days.
Therefore, I should recognise that AI is as powerful as your best teacher, which I really receive to much even out of class, when we used to take a coffee. My teachers out of class where my best AI tools. I used to show then my draft of ideas, poems, daily life, my opinion about my last reading book, etc, etc.
So, what I realised is the challenge now with those new tools is the way to interacting. It is not anymore the Google research… But that is subject for another writing.
—An use on a Restaurant by a chef
A friend of mine, Argentinian chef, recently arrived to Hong Kong. Last Sunday we was talking about the impressive potential of AI. I asked him, how do you use it for?
—For example when I change my menu I asked suggestions for new dishes, new menu. I just review it and re-organise it.
In Argentina they have access to a free version for Whats App, so they can speak with the AI and ask whatever they want. For example, if you want to receive advise about something like depression, you explain how are you feeling and you have your therapist.
I mentioned to him I just watch a video of AI University— from Colombia and I saw there is an use to clone your voice (using Whats App) and answer costumers, maybe you could apply it. He answered me, there are lots of things we can do but you should pay for it. Into myself I though he is cheap and he is not taking a maximum profit of AI. Well, at that moment there was not too much news about Deep Seek, talking about the cost.
—The one who keeps the fire is the winner?
Have you watched Quest for fire (La guerre du feu). You can follow all the history even if there is no our language there. It makes me think now that the Hegemonic Powers are fighting to keep the feu (AI) to have the great power.
AI technologies has marked the watershed in numerous benefits across various sectors. Think on the area of health care how marvellous things are happening. Think about any business how AI is increasing Productivity and Efficiency. But here is where organisations should train everyone of the employees in order to understand the potential and allows them to focus towards more creative and strategic endeavors. At the moment, it is quite difficult to distinguish between a real person and a chat bot taking your order for a product through Whats App or whatever call, maybe I should say an AI Assistant.
__What we should worry about?
Despite the numerous advantages of these new tools, the rise of AI is not without its challenges. One significant concern is the potential for job displacement as automation replaces traditional roles.
While AI creates new job opportunities, the transition can be disruptive, particularly for those whose skills may not align with the demands of an AI-driven economy.
So, what about Education? This necessitates a reevaluation of education and training programs to equip the workforce with the necessary skills for the jobs of the future. Future that is already here!
Additionally, the ethical implications of AI technology warrant careful consideration. Issues surrounding privacy, bias, and accountability are paramount, as AI systems often rely on large datasets that may contain inherent biases, leading to discriminatory outcomes.
Society must engage in rigorous discussions to establish frameworks that ensure the responsible development and deployment of AI technologies. We should be able to profit the great advantages of block technology into the taking decisions on responsible use of AI.
—Is Thera a conclusion in something that is changing every day?
At the moment, we can see the impact of artificial intelligence on society is profound and multifaceted, offering remarkable benefits while posing significant challenges.
As we continue to harness the power of AI, it is crucial to approach its integration thoughtfully, prioritizing ethical considerations and societal impacts.
Here is the opportunity to work in teams: technologists, policymakers, and the public, we could navigate the complexities of AI, ensuring that its advancements contribute positively to society.
The journey ahead requires vigilance and adaptability to the everyday new Waves of AI.
