RE: Proposal: EverSteem - Write Once Earn Forever

in Steem Dev13 days ago

I agree that the short rewards window is a problem and it's worthwhile to try to find solutions for it. I don't really understand why there's an NFT component -- it's my impression that most normies view anything NFT-related with suspicion given the overhype/crash cycle they've been through. It's also not clear to me that a proprietary NFT market is a good way to solve an ecosystem-wide problem. Why not just architect a software convention that any frontend could support?

Thank you for your kind opinions.
Regarding the NFT, NFTs will be included for a strategic game. Each NFT has different beneficiary wight of an article. If someone sells a NFT, it means the owner guess the article of the NFT would give enough reward in the future. You know the reward of an article on EverSteem is perpetual. An article might have a lot of large votes someday then the owner of the NFT of the article will share the reward.

This game will trigger these:

  • find a valuable article first to mint a NFT
  • find an underestimated NFT to get higher reward

There might be more interesting scenarios. What do you think?

I think the odds of finding a particular article that will someday get large perpetual rewards are low (1 out of N to find the article, the odds that your new platform for is popular in the long term), so buyers would only want them if the price was very low. So why would creators want to sell their potential future rewards for a very low price? I don't think there will be a market that makes sense in terms of supply and demand. It's also not clear to me why you'd want it to be NFT-based, don't most prediction markets work on fungible shares?

The idea of minting an NFT to capture someone else's article's rewards also seems kind of sketchy to me. And I think if people aren't confident that rewards are going to the original creator then they might be less likely to vote on a post.

Through EverSteem, I want to collect posts worth reading. But how?
That's why I consider NFTs that have a right to get rewarded. This right should not be manipulated by app developers or any other authorities.

But you have a point that users would not vote on a post that shares rewards with the NFT owner.

Creators will have minimum percentage of reward (more than 50% of total reward). I will let a user decide how much the user will get by minting a NFT.

My app seems not a straight-forward app. Initially I considered only the removing the voting window but the app could not get attentions from creators and users. That's why I came up with the idea to provide strong incentive for finding high quality posts.

Thank you for your opinions. Let's see how the users and creator react.
