You'd be astonished to know what was the very first post on our Steemit site, even though we have thousands of postings. Yes, the article below was written by Dan Larimer and is the first tested article on Steemit on 13 April 2016.

Dan Larimer, Co-Founder Steemit source
Steemit's co-founder is Dan Larimer. BitShares was made by him. The original purpose of ProtoShares, the old name for BitShares, was to act as a form of digital stock. Since then, it has also been called a platform, a digital currency, and a cryptocurrency exchange. It is set up as a decentralized, autonomous organization (DAO).
In 2016, Larimer quit BitShares to co-found the social network Steemit and the blockchain Steem, which both employ blockchain technology to compensate users for their content. Larimer served as the website's CTO from the time he and Ned Scott co-founded Steemit until March 14, 2017.
The second post and most important post was made by one of the co-founders of Steemit Ned Scott

Ned Scott explained how they built the Steemit platform in an interview with coinreport.com. "We had been investigating several blockchain-based business models when the concept of Steem and Steemit really started to take shape. We were considering blockchain-based microinsurance as well as a few other concepts, but ultimately we kept coming back to the notion that a cryptocurrency's community is its most valuable and effective asset".
Steem was developed on the principles of insurance and mutual aid, with the notion that, in times of need or difficulty, individuals may turn to one another for support.
On 19th April 2016, Dan Larimer wrote an article about steem dollars with the title of Introduction to Steem Dollars SBD in which he clearly explained what is SBD and where does Interest come from, markest and risks, etc.
These incredible folks built our Steemit website, which is still active today and has been for seven years. Furthermore, the fact that many people profit from this cannot be disputed. All of them, and we owe them both a debt of appreciation. I am confident that this website will continue to expand and provide value to a large number of people.
