What is Sharding Technique in Blockchain networks?

Friends if we talk about the word shard then it's meaning is a small pieces of different things but here in digital world the meaning of shard is quite different. So in the context of Blockchain networks, the Sharding means that it is a technique which is used to divide the information into to several small shards in order to increase the storage capacity of network so that more data can be stored and be transferred easily.

In order words we can also say that the shards split the data into different segments while the each shard store a specific amount of information in it. As we know in a Blockchain networks the transaction validate through the different nodes so each shard transfer the stored information to the specific node in order to validate transaction, thus the Sharding improve the overall performance of a network.

The Sharding Technique provides the tamper proof security to the transaction and the data which is stored in each shard. So we can say that the Sharding Technique provides the security and Privacy to validate different transaction. On the other hand thag technique is also very useful to solve the scalability issues of Blockchain based networks and that is why many of networks are implanting Sharding Technique to make the transaction smooth and easier.

The reason is that when the information is splits into into different small segments which reduce the pressure of validating transaction because each shard transfer the data to that one specific nodes or smart contract. Now a days one of the largest Blockchain based platform Ethereum is planning to implant Sharding Technique to solve the scalability issues of their network.

Advantage of Sharding for Blockchain Networks

Friends the Sharding Technique offer various advantages to the Blockchain networks as it split the information into small pieces and increase the storage capacity. Let's have a look at some other advantages of Sharding.

• The Sharding Technique makes the network more scalable because when the information is split into pieces or segments then the load of validating transaction decrease which reduce the scalable issues of a network.

• With the help of shards a large number of transaction can be validated during a short interval of time because the transaction data is divided into pieces which means that the load of transaction reduced.

• The Sharding Technique also prevents a network from congestion because when a large number of transaction validate at the same time the traffic on network increase. But due to shards that data is splitted which means that the traffic of transactions is reduced.

• When a network is more scalable and the transaction are validating without congestion in the fees of transaction is reduced automatically. So now we can say that the Sharding Technique reduce transaction fees.

In conclusion, we can say that the Sharding can play a vital role in enhancing the scalability of a Blockchain network and can make the transaction smooth, secure and transparent. Also it reduces the fees of transaction so we can say that a Blockchain network which is relying on shards can improve its stability and can gain the interest of more people which provides it an opportunity to engage more users.
