STEEMFOODS: Tortang Talong (Eggplant Omelet Filipino Dish)
Good day steemians, How are you today? Hope your okay despite of the pandemic we are facing right now. Another day, another cooking tutorial. Today, I will teach you how to cook Tortang Talong in English Eggplant Omelet. Another nutritious food that can help us boost our immune system which can help us fight COVID-19.
WHAT:
Tortang Talong or Eggplant Omelet is a Filipino dish that is an economical but delicious meal and is best served with ketchup or mixed vinegar and soy sauce. It is a traditional Filipino meal that is healthy and easy to make, even a begginer in cooking can do it.
Early in the morning last Friday I went to our back garden to get some eggplant. I am planning to cook tortang talong or eggplant omelet. This meal is so simple and easy to cook.
INGREDIENTS:
3 talong (eggplant)
3 eggs
2 tomatoes
spring onions
¼ cup oil
seasoning (salt and vetsin (optional) or magic sarap)
PREPARATIONS:
It took me less than 15 minutes in preparing all the ingredients. Before I start chopping the ingredients I washed my hands and the ingredients.
First, I chopped the spring onions into small pieces.
Second is the tomatoes, I cut them into small pieces like the spring onions.
Third, I steamed the eggplant. (until the color of the eggplant changed)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Step 1 - Steamed the eggplant until its color changed. I already steamed it while ago. (You can also grill the eggplant if you want but mind I
steamed it)
Step 2 - Carefully peel off the skin of the eggplant.
Step 3 - Flatten each eggplant using the spoon. Make sure to press it well so it scattered like a semi-circle shaped. Set aside.
Step 4 - Beat the eggs on a bowl and mix it well.
Step 5 Add the chopped tomatoes and spring onions.
Step 5 - Season the mixture with salt and magic sarap to taste.
Step 6 Dip the eggplant into the mixture. Make sure to soaked it a little while so that the mixture will be absurd by the eggplant.
Step 7 - Put oil on the frying pan then slowly put the eggplant mixture on the pan.
Step 8- Flip the eggplant omellet in the other side until it color change to golden brown.
