in SteemFoods4 years ago

Hello Steemit Community! I hope you're having a great day today, wishing you good health wherever you are in the world.

Today, I will share to you my personal recipe of a classic Filipino cuisine that is always sold out to every occasion, Bam-i. This dish is a very popular dish in the Philippines most especially during holidays and birthdays for the Pancit Bihon, they say, signifies long life. This dish is good paired with rice or even for snacks.

These are ingredients needed:

1/4 cup Cooking Oil
250 grams Pork (sliced)
5 cloves garlic (pressed)
1 pc onion (sliced)
250 grams Chicken Breast (boiled with 2 cups water) set aside the chicken stock
1/2 cup soy sauce
250 grams Longi Sotanghon
250 grams Pansit Canton
100 grams carrots (sliced)
50 grams cabbage (sliced)
1 pack 30 grams oyster sauce
1 tsp ground black pepper

So, let's start cooking!

First, you need to prepare the 2 cups of water in a pan.

Add the chicken breast and boil it for 5-7 minutes. The main reason I choose chicken breast so that we can have enough meat for the dish. After boiling, set aside the chicken stock because we will need this later.

Next, we need to prepare the ingredients needed. You will need a chopping board and a knife for the following steps.

Cut the pork into cubes. You can adjust the size of the cut based on your preference.

Cut also the spices, these are very essential in a dish because it will add an aroma to our Bam-i. Actually, you can have 2 garlic for this dish but because I love garlic so I used five. Pressed the garlic then slice it, as well as the onion.

Next is you need to cut the carrots into thin slices, lengthwise.

Do not forget our cabbage. Slice the cabbage into strips, we only need a half of a whole cabbage for this dish.

Prepare also our Longi Sotanghon and Pansit Canton. Preparing the ingredients like slicing it, cutting peeling and etc. before cooking is a French term Mise en place an essential part in cooking.
