Hi everyone good day. In respect to steem foods 1st anniversary competition, I will be sharing a recipe I prepared specially for this competition. It's a Hausa recipe called '' DANBUN SHINKAFA '' I hope you all give it a try.
INGREDIENTS
Rice
Chicken/Beef
Green peas
Green pepper
Spring onion
Carrots
Tomato paste
Onion
Chilli pepper
Stock cubes
Salt vegetable oil
Crayfish
PROCEDURES
- Using a dry blender, break your dry rice into bits, wash and sieve out powdered particles, then soak in water(not hot) for 2-3hrs. After which you add salt to taste and little vegetable oil and steam until cooked and set aside.
- In a dry pot, add vegetable oil, add your chopped onion allow to turn golden brown, add little tomato paste(optional) for color, add your fresh chilli pepper and let it sit for 1min, then add your chopped chicken/beef and stir for some time.
- Next step is to add your chopped vegetables and add little chicken stock/water just to simmer, add crayfish and season with salt and spices of your choice. Allow to sit until desired.
- Add the steamed rice into vegetable sauce and stir, then serve.
