Spectacular And Magnificent Waterfall Beyond Words (Maharashtra, India)

The Devkund Trek is one of the most loved treks in Maharashtra. And why shouldn’t that be? Afterall, away from the hustle of the city, this secluded waterfall is nothing short of a paradise. So, check out this beauty the next time you get away from the city and feast your eyes on this nature’s marvel and bring back lovely memories.

Set deep inside the jungles surrounding the Bhira Dam, the Devkund Waterfall is spectacular and probably the most picturesque waterfall in Maharashtra. Because of its virginal beauty and the gorgeous waterfall, the place lures both trekkers and non-trekkers.

Dropping from a magnificent height of over 80 ft straight into a pond of approx. 30 mt diameter, Devkund is a confluence of three cascading waterfalls. With such charming sights to enjoy, soon the place came into limelight and became a hit with trekkers and hikers.

This nature’s marvel originating from the Kundalika river is situated amidst the dense forests surrounding the Tata power Bhira Dam. Even though not much is known about its history, legend has it that once upon a time utensils used to emerge from the Kund whenever there was any auspicious occasion in the nearby village.

Once you get there, splash-sploosh in the pool of fresh water with your friends and family. After spending a considerable amount of time, enjoying the water play and soaking in the breathtaking beauty of the waterfalls, you can appreciate the flora and fauna of the dense forest that surrounds it.

A side note to all the interested trekkers, don’t forget to pack extra pairs of clothes and rainwear because, of course, the monsoon. It is advisable to wear full sleeves and full track pants because the trek path travels through thickets and groves. Also, be sure you wear proper trekking shoes for better grip as the trail could a bit slippery due to the rain.
