USABLENESS OF A BELIEVER 1
19 NEVERTHELESS THE SOLID FOUNDATION OF GOD STANDS, HAVING THIS SEAL: "The Lord knows those who are His," and, "Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity."
20 But in a great house there are not only VESSELS OF GOLD AND SILVER, but also of wood and clay, SOME FOR HONOUR AND SOME FOR DISHONOUR.
21 THEREFORE IF ANYONE CLEANSES HIMSELF FROM THE LATTER, HE WILL BE A VESSEL FOR HONOUR, SANCTIFIED AND USEFUL FOR THE MASTER, PREPARED FOR EVERY GOOD WORK."
2 Timothy 2:19-21 (NKJV)
• Being broken is important.
- What a believer would not allow God to do in his or her life, It would be difficult to use such a believer to solve such a problem in the lives of others.
- Your usableness is premised on your yieldableness or submissiveness to God's principles or discipline.
- The change which you would not allow God to effect in your life, you either would hardly be used to effect such a change in the life of other people.
- The challenges and problems being brought your way are meant to work a change in your character, to remove things that are not right in your life—smoothen your rough edges.
- You would not be able to detect a character defect, which is endemic in your life, in the life of other people. This is the reason why you should allow God to purge and refine and transform you in order to be a useable vessel for the liberation or deliverance of others.
• A number of believers usually do not understand why some problems or challenges are allowed or permitted in their lives.
- They could not see God's hand in what they are going through, they are dull of hearing so to speak (Hebrews 5:11).
- A believer who is dull of hearing, who finds it difficult to discern or discover what God is teaching or passing across to him or her as a message, in that which they are passing through, might stay long in the predicament or problem.
- A believer on this path should always know that whenever things started going sour, God is speaking or communicating or saying something to him or her. You cannot afford to turn a deaf ear to whatever God is saying through the challenges you are facing!
- Mostly, a believer who is being prepared to be a useable vessel would have or face different challenges or difficulties and they should be able to get or discern what God is saying through those problems or challenges.
• Things do not happen in the life of a believer for fun, there must be a significant reason for it—most especially If a call of God is sensed or perceived to be on the believer's life: "AND WE KNOW THAT ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD TO THOSE WHO LOVE GOD, TO THOSE WHO ARE THE CALLED ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE" (Romans 8:28 NKJV).
- Sure, every believer is called according to God's purpose as mentioned or suggested in the above Bible passage, thus, whatever happens in your life, as a believer, should not be seen or be assumed to be ordinary or without a significance.
- Events in a believer's life contain messages from God. The onus lies with the believer to decipher or discover whatever message in the events or occurrences that happened in his or her life. This is where maturity begins in the life of a believer!
- A believer who is able to discern or discover, or decode whatever message encoded in a problem or challenge is on his or her way to maturity—such is climbing the ladder of maturity. He or she is a potential useable material or vessel in God's hand.
- The message is, or the importance of the message would first and foremost be about yieldableness. It is not enough to know or discern or discover the message but the yieldableness or the surrendering or compliance of the believer, that is, the readiness or willingness to allow God to do the necessary or needed things for the accomplishment of the purpose.
- In other words, the usability of the believer, or the fulfilment of God's purpose in such a person's life, depends on the cooperation of the believer with whatever God intended to do through the challenges permitted to come his or her way.
• You will not fail in Jesus' name.
- If you are having any ailment in your body, receive your healing in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
- Every hold of the devil is completely destroyed in your life in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Peace!
