UNDERSTANDING WHAT IT IS OR WHAT IS MEANT TO BE POSSESSED 1
43 “WHEN AN UNCLEAN SPIRIT GOES OUT OF A MAN, HE GOES THROUGH DRY PLACES, SEEKING REST, AND FINDS NONE.
44 THEN HE SAYS, ‘I WILL RETURN TO MY HOUSE FROM WHICH I CAME.’ AND WHEN HE COMES, HE FINDS IT EMPTY, SWEPT, AND PUT IN ORDER.
45 THEN HE GOES AND TAKES WITH HIM SEVEN OTHER SPIRITS MORE WICKED THAN HIMSELF, AND THEY ENTER AND DWELL THERE; AND THE LAST STATE OF THAT MAN IS WORSE THAN THE FIRST. So shall it also be with this wicked generation." "
Matthew 12:43-45 (NKJV)
• Whoever is born-again is a new creation, his or her spirit is reborn or regenerated.
- The Holy Spirit who did the work of regeneration abides in the newly created human spirit of the believer. Thus, no other spirit would be able to dwell in the spirit of such a person—he or she has a regenerated spirit.
- Albeit, the soul or mind of the person that is yet to be renewed or saved could be taken over by the devil, demons; If such a believer would allow it to happen.
- A believer's spirit cannot be possessed by demons, but the mind that is not renewed, left passive and empty, could be hijacked or taken over by a demon or more.
- Mind is always the battle ground which the devil always want to take or possess; in order to keep a believer in bondage, makes him or her incapacitated to fulfil God's purposes for their lives.
• The spirit, inward Man, is where you had the operations of the intuition, fellowship, and conscience.
- In your spirit, the inward Man, you have the presence of the Holy Spirit, and your fellowshipping with God takes place in there.
- A believer who is walking in the spirit is said to be sensitive to intuition, that is, received instructions or commands from God. Such a believer fellowships or communes with God in the spirit, that is, through his or her spirit or inward Man.
- The mind of such a believer would have to be worked on, renewed and be saturated with God's Word, for it to be able to work in agreement with the inward Man, the recreated human spirit of the believer.
- If a believer's mind is left porous, unattended to, empty and passive; the devil would want to take advantage of it—build a stronghold that would inhibit the progress or growth of such a believer's communion with God and whatever he or she is assigned to do or fulfil in life and ministry.
• The fact that It has been taught that God detests whatever originates from the mind or the flesh does not mean a believer's mind would be rendered functionless or inactive.
- A believer's mind is needed in Its renewed state or condition to work with the spirit, the inward Man. The mind that is renewed, filled and preoccupied with the Word of God, will be in a good state to fact-check the intuition—whatever is received from the inward Man, the recreated human spirit.
- Having understood this, a believer should not give a place to the devil to take over or possess his or her mind. If this is done, the spirit of such a believer would be caged or functionless.
- When a believer's mind is taken over by a demon, such is said to be possessed. The leading he or she would be receiving would no longer be from the Holy Spirit through the regenerated human spirit, the inward Man.
- There are some who claimed to be professed believers whose minds have been taken over or possessed by the devil. They are led and directed by demons, thinking they are being led by God, the Holy Spirit.
• You will not fail in Jesus' name.
