Down The Farm ... Lily Meeting The Farmer´s Family Dog
Farmland in the outskirts of Vienna
In this week´s edition of my #wednesdaywalk.. I will take you to a farmland that is in the outskirts of our district located in Lower Austria. The original plan was to walk Lily in the field that is bout 500 meters from our home ... but since Hubbz had to go out for his doctor´s appointment, I changed my plan. After Hubbz was dropped-off at the clinic, Lily and I drove to the bordering town of Gerasdorf, in a huge farmland that has become a hotspot for sports-oriented locals in that area.
At first, I parked the car on the roadside closed to the horses track and begun to walk Lily, this is the road where we used to pick cherries from the arrays of planted trees along the dirt track... When we still had our Rottie named Ako, these trees were still very young. Now 28 years after, the trees look gigantic. The cherries are not harvested by the farmers, they are just there as wind breaker.
The plan was to walk Lily so she could see the horses in the track ...tho there were not much of them outside since it was freaking cold at that time. The extremely cold wind had been sweeping across the fields that my hands became too stiff....Lily didn´t like the cold wind either and did not move from where she was standing, I knew she wanted to go back to the car, but we went further til we reached the horses´s track.
When we reached the track, the horses were already staring at Lily, I wonder what they were thinking seeing this chubby little girl compared to their huge sizes. At any rate, I took these pics while Lily was staring at them. When we were about to turn and go back to the car .... a little white dog came towards us, she came from the big building where the horses´s stalls are located.
I knew she´s the farmers dog because I saw her once in the car of the farmer´s son. She was wearing a GPS in her collar and she very well knew to which direction she was going to.... as if she was searching for someone...
On the other side of the windbreaker trees , a tractor had been ploughing through the fields, so she must have been searching for her owner and must have heard the noise of the tractor.
After greeting Lily, she went away towards the direction of the tractor located in another field behind the windbreaker trees.
Lily made her "business" as we went further a bit more towards the back of the small man-made lake to see the flow of water in the creek. It had been a lovely Wednesday afternoon however cold the wind had been.
Looks like you and Lily had a nice outing and thanks for sharing with us
Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :)
