A Diary with Purpose - My Journey Two Weeks Ago
Hello buddies,
It is another time to get busy on my blog once again after weeks of the absence of real content creation. It hasn't been easy dealing with offline activities relative to my usual active online engagements.
Exactly two weeks ago, I initiated a trip that has occupied me more than necessary in the present. But that isn't just the aim here but to narrate my diary during this period under review. It wasn't all that rosy, but they will say good things don't just come by easily.

The journey started quite early since it was a long one, given I was also using the land means of transportation. I joined the first bus which was for 7am departure time. It was a journey of at least 9 hours. Journies of such nature require adequate preparation. You have to be really prepared, body and soul,l, to get started.
During this period, I automatically went into a compulsory fast all day to avoid any form of stomach upset. Aside from hydrating myself gradually and maybe taking nuts (cashew nuts), I keep away from any form of food ingestion right from the night that proceeds to the morning. This is to holistically accommodate my sanity during the tour.
Six hours into the journey, I was already exhausted and wished I could teleport into my destination environment. However, we stopped midday into the journey for those who wanted to refresh, get some stuff, stretch their legs, and as well as ease off. I was able to ease myself during this 30-minute driving break. I also seized the opportunity to buy bananas and groundnuts for fast-break as soon as I arrived at my destination.
Good enough, I saw a colleague too on getting to my destination. At the bus park, he also arrived for the same training which I came for. I took some of the fruits and nuts I got and as well gave him some since we all seemed famished. We rested a while in the bus park and took enough water this time to get hydrated after a long journey with caution.
Not long after we waited, my friend's brother arrived. and took us to an apartment where we lodged. This was a height of gesture I remain thankful. Those we never thought would be of help happen to be lifesavers in difficult situations. I want to thank David (Smart) and my good friend Aniekan for this unique role on my special trip of upliftment.

On getting into the apartment, we had already made the necessary reservations, so it was easy for reimbursement as well as meal orders. There was nothing else we could immediately do other than freshen up, take our meal, and just have a peaceful rest in the comfort of a deserving room reservation since we would still have a busy day tomorrow.
Not long of rest, it was a Monday morning before us, and a typical environment of such before us indicates that we had to get out as early as 5 to 6 am given the nature of traffic within. Just like required, we left at exactly 5:50am to enable us to beat traffic en route. Unfortunately, we got trapped; this seemed to me another mini-long journey as experienced the previous day.
The bus we entered suddenly became an oven for bread due to the heat from other cars held in the traffic jam and the discomforting seating position that kept me almost devoid of all through this intra journey. This first intra-movement experience was quite exhaustive as we got to the training office two hours later feeling unwell. But remembering the task ahead, I had to renew my mindset and continue to stay up.
On getting to the venue, we were redirected to another venue that was used. That wasn't hard to locate, we headed and got debriefed before heading to the training center with others who also came for the same training. There were 28 in number that attended out of the 46 invited persons. Suddenly, we were told this was to be a two-day training without pre-information.

Notwithstanding, the training was a super packed one that left us more sharpened to be prepared for assigned tasks when back to base. This was done on two different days with different experts taking their turn to train us for better performance. Though this was exhaustive, it was worth it despite the poor welfare package received during the training period. Promises made to respond accordingly are yet to be executed. Well, I know it will surely be done, the only time factor is the constraints.
Going back to the lodge on the first day was so stressful that I kept wondering how to deal with this stress for day two. But funnily, it was a different scenario the second day as everything happened so easily. We got a minicab en route to the training venue, and this didn't take us up to 45 minutes, unlike the 2 hours spent the previous day. Everything about the second day was compensation for the mistreatment we got the first day.
The good treatment I received beclouded my sense of thinking that I forgot tomorrow was another long journey back to base. We personally asked for a little pepper in our meal while complaining the previous one lacked that ingredient. Unfortunately, this was our undoing as we both got stomach upset during this long journey.
To make matters worse, the car was delayed due to tyre problems. We had to stop at two different points to fix the tyre before we finally got the tyre replaced. And the next point of the stop was where we needed to come down and refresh; both of us quickly used the convenience to get some kind of comfort. I was able to take bitter kola to help some stability as we journeyed.
Some of these delays we had on the road was a blessing in return. I got to the regional office town and it was already late. Instead of proceeding to the my state, I had to lodge to enable me visit the regional office, sign in before heading to my state of assignment. So this actually worked out for me as planned.

It was a long journey for me, fruitful, successful, and quite inspiring despite all odds. Like I mentioned earlier, nothing good comes easy.
