This is actually an amazing topic as people believe that formal education is a ticket out of poverty as you will get a job as soon as you finish schooling and make a living. Which is false as white collar jobs cannot go round. Many underrates skill acquisition because they think they will get a job which is not right as everyone should have a skill at least as a back up plan. Skill and business is also another path to financial freedom though not really emphasized enough. Skill can be an online or offline skill but something that is of high demand like I'm currently learning a skill on community management because it's in high demand.

In as much as a degree is necessary it's not a ticket for getting a well paid job it's necessary to own one because education is the best asset.

There are a whole lot of online job that requires just being specialized in that area to function. By just taking online courses and getting a certificate you start by volunteering under the area, in order to build your portfolio and learn more, you get to find a well paid job in that field and at this point a degree isn't necessary to get the job.

The digital age tends to make the degree look irrelevant because as an undergraduate microbiologist, I write and get paid online and this is in no way related to my degree but due to technology I just found a niche and built on it and I'm doing well while going to school because I know, regardless I need a degree.

No, the contest is in no way trying to condemn education because education is very necessary especially formal education as you get to learn adequate communication skills and basic knowledge on how to about a whole lot.
Education helps one navigate through whatever the person sets his or her mind to do for example without a level of education one can't write on the Steemit platform because you won't be able to communicate effectively and grammatical errors can make a good content boring as the readers might not flow perfectly.

Yes, it's dangerous and can lead to depression because having the idea that after school you get a job and make money. If the job doesn't come immediately one might begin to question the worth of the degree he or she laboured for and might also be of the opinion that "School Na Scam" which is false because the benefits of schooling is beyond getting a job and making money. Education helps to build an individual in areas like knowledge, social life and skills and a lot more.

Steemit is a great prove that you can make money while schooling. Infact Steemit is my great support in school, I joined the platform in my 200 level earlier thus year and I can't count the times this platform came through for me financially. I automatically stopped depending on my parents because I knew I had another option.

The app has proven that you can make clean money online with less stress and by just consistency you get to build your portfolio and earn steadily. Coupled with the fact that you don't need anything to register like a qualification or something but by just knowing how to express yourself in writing, even if you are not perfect you get to learn from others.
