Hello steemians and fellow members of steem4nigeria community. Greetings to everyone. I'm here to share with my
views to the advice I can give to my younger self. I want to thank @steem4nigeria for organizing this contest. this will give me the opportunity to express all that was kept inside of me. I hope the younger generation learns from my errors. Note nothing in this world is permanent. Change is constant.

Have you taken some irrational decisions while you were much younger?

Certainly, there are so many irrational decisions I took while I was young which has backfired me now as I get older.
Number one is listening to my father when it comes to career choice. The old man wanted the best for me. However his best could not help me. I now realize I should've been rebellious and outspoken in terms of what I really wanted.
It's very painful when you finally realize that you can't go through life twice. I wish I could go back to school and study what actually mattered to me.
I literally studied political science. I don't meant to be braggadocios I'm intelligent, but that was not really my passion. I actually wanted to study fine art. Look at me today. I'm doing what does not related to what I studied in the tertiary institution. There's so many things I could talk about. Let me just leave the advice on the ending part of this post instead of bugging you with lengthy write-up.

Do you think you're now wiser and better than you used to be?

Apparently, knowledge is power as the saying goes. I just believe that the older we get the wiser we become.
There's so many things I deed in my teenage and twenties that I consider foolish, goofy and dumb. If I was given back the opportunity to go back to my past then I wouldn't make any irrational decisions when growing up. I know life is short but we should mess with the little time we have here.
Life really beautiful if we appreciate it.

What advice would you give to your younger self or a younger generation who are already in that stage of life you were once in.

✓ Don't let anyone choose your career for you. Not even your parents or peers. Do only what you think you're good at. Be influenced by people who have already done what you choose to become. This will motivate you and help you connect with like minds. Iron sharpened iron. Nobody knows your strength and weaknesses better than you. So I would say to you, please focus on your strength only. No man is born empty or without talent.

✓ Talking from a true life story. Don't be or try to be your parents favorite child. Your parents will truly love you above other of your siblings, but your siblings will be jealous of you until they gradually develop strong hate for you. You won't believe it except it happens to you.
Don't you remember the story of Joseph in the Bible? The Bible never tell lies

✓ Do not let peers or friends lead you into temptation. What do I mean? I mean don't do things you do want to do just because your friends are doing it or want you to do it. Stay away from friends who do drugs. Don't let anyone lure you into premarital sex. Stay away from pornography. Don't get into romantic relationship until you're settled. Some romantic relationship may ruined you future goals and probably end you with an untreatable or chronic STD. Just don't get yourself involved in anything that's capable of thwarting your long term life goals.

✓ Learn any high income skill during your teens or twenties. Having an income earning skill is very important. The older you get, the lesser the interest. Do it while you are still young. There are so many skills out there that will serve you. Always go for what you love. Don't let anyone decide for you. They can on guide or direct you.

✓ Don't go to school with the mindset that school will make you rich. Go to school to upgrade your knowledge, connect with people and enhance your overall mental wellbeing, which is what will help you scale through life smoothly.

✓ Crypto is the future. Please know a little about it.

✓ Learn to read non-fiction books. Almost all the secret of this world is hidden in books. This will definitely sharpen your intellectual horizon and apparently differentiate you from goofy people.

✓ Acknowledge your creator in all you do. God is the greatest. without him we amount to nothing. Always put him first.

✓ Don't let anyone talk you out of your dreams. If you can visualize it, then it's possible. Go after it like your whole life depends on it, because it actually does. It's about living your purpose.
