Taking the above as an introductory aspect of the contest, let's dive into the main background of wisdom before answering the questions that complements the contest.

WISDOM

The word wisdom is coined from two English words "Wis" which means "wise" or " knowledge" and "dom" which as well mean "state" or "condition".
Since learning is a continuous process, innovations comes in and the word "wisdom" is use in several scenario to mean insight, intelligence, understanding, knowledge, discernment, prudence, caution, judicious, circumspection, experience, sagacity, amongst others. These words listed above turns out to commemorate synonyms of wisdom in different contexts of life.

INFLUENCE OF WISDOM

Wisdom has been influenced by several philosophies like;

  1. Biblical literatures
  2. Ancient Greek philosophy
  3. Eastern philosophy
  4. Problem solving
  5. Critical thinking
  6. Adaptability
  7. Self awareness theory

Now, let me answer the questions of the contest:

What do you understand by the word wisdom?

The word wisdom is a very broad term with lots of meaning depending on individuals context and perspective. But I will try to give a coincised meaning of the word wisdom that will cover several aspects
Wisdom is an act of reflection that encompasses empathy and decends into experience and insight. Wisdom is the ability to applying knowledge and understanding To manage one's emotion and relationship, connecting with more meaningful things apart from oneself and finding purpose.

Do you think great wisdom comes with age or anyone can possess it?

Age has no business with wisdom, one can be aged but yet nothing to show as an evidence of growth. But in the same vain, a young child can think critically and solve world related problems in which an elderly person cannot solve.

If wisdom should come with age, do you agree that all elders are wise?

First and foremost, wisdom is not accompanied by age. Even if wisdom were to come with age, it is very impossible and unnatural to see all elders wise. This is because humans don't think the same way, they don't behave like each other, they don't have same cognitive domains and they don't have same mentality.

What is your personal understanding of elders possessing wisdom?

In my own perspective, anyone can possess wisdom irrespective of class and age. Though wisdom encompasses experience which is synonymous to age but that not withstanding. Anyone can be wise due to his or her intellectual know-how.

CONCLUSION

Wisdom as a word comes with a broad meaning which if not critically treated can cause misunderstandings. Wisdom centers on critical thinking serving as a bridge to solve life's problems. So please let's not mistake education to wisdom or maybe comparing it to age, it does not march.
