There are many stories, most of which are false stories that we were told, and we later grew up to discover that the story was all false story. Today I want to share a little on that same story with us all.

What were the lies you believed while growing up?

While growing up, I was told that those who speak on the radio or the music that plays on the radio also get tired, and that is the reason why most radio stations close by 8-9 p.m., Nigerian time.

A story was told about a man who wanted to keep listening to the music coming out from the radio station that when the station went off, he said to himself, it seems that those who were talking are tired and hungry and hence they needed food.

Since he wanted the music to continue, he decided to go ahead and buy food and drinks for them so that they could take and then have more strength or energy to continue the work they were doing.

He bought all that was needed, kept it in front of the radio, and asked it to continue talking. At some point, he even went as far as getting more fruits and energy drinks and requested that they should continue their singing.

What was your reaction after finding out the truth as an adult?

When I grew up, I found out that the said story is just a fabrication or a story just to keep people active and alive in all they do so that they can have something to keep their children busy almost every time through the various stories.

Well, finding out about that, I didn't feel too bad because I guess they may have just come up with that story because that was the best explanation they could think of at that time since technology was not rampant during that period.

Anyone may also think the same because of the way the Nigerian radio station behaves. So I concluded that it may be possible that they thought it wise that for the radio to stop working, it means that those involved are hungry.

Do you subscribe to telling lies to young minds in a bid to protect them, or do you choose to call a spade a spade?

I don't subscribe to telling lies to young minds in a bid to protect them at any cost, and the reason is that lies always cause more harm than good to them. So you should tell them the truth and then face it when they are supposed to, then lie to them, and later on, they will find out about the truth and then get angry with you.

So when you tell them the truth, they may hate you at the moment, but as time goes on, when they get to understand that what you did for them is the best, they will finally appreciate you for your effort in telling them the truth and the g them through the right path.

Always tell people the truth even if it will hurt them at that moment. The truth that is buried hurts the most when it finally comes to the limelight.

Finally, I wish to invite my friends @dove11, @solaymann, and @josepha to also join this contest today and share their own opinions about this wonderful topic.
