"SLC-S25/W2-Movie Snapshots|Book to Screen-"Devdas."
Hello dear friends,
How are you all? I hope you are well. I am also fine by the grace of Allah. Today, I have come to participate in the first week of the Steemit Challenge SLC-S25/W2, organized by the Honorable Teacher @ruthjoe ma'am. As a student, I am eager to participate in and learn the cultural activities through worldwide movies, and I am proud to participate in this challenge.
Do you think it is better to write an idea as a book/novel or act it out as a movie? And which do you prefer?- |
---|
A book or a novel tells the story of a life. Various aspects of life are revealed. A writer portrays human emotions, love, sorrow, pain, and various situations. The audience, when reading a novel, sometimes laughs with the author's characters, sometimes we are overwhelmed with sadness, and sometimes we become one with the characters. Of course, it is true that if we cannot relate to the characters, we cannot understand the main idea of the novel.
From this book,(Devdas) made the famous film Devdas
Again, a film or a movie presents a huge story in 2-2.3 hours. From there, we also relate to each character. When the character laughs, I also laugh. When the character cries, I also cry. In short, we become deeply connected to the character.
Both represent our culture. However, the emotions of both are different. You can enjoy the taste of time after watching a movie, but you can't enjoy it while reading a book. Again, it's difficult to find literary pleasure in a movie.
Personally, I like reading novels and watching movies. I know that the joy of reading a novel is the same as the entertainment of movies in novels. So, I love both equally.
However, in the movie that I am presenting today, I am putting the movie ahead, that is, I like the movie.

Watch a movie based on a book or novel- |

The movie that I am discussing today is a famous book. The name of the book is Devdas. The author of the book is the famous novelist Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. It was first published on June 30, 1917. The book is basically a story of failed love. How a sacred thing like love is destroyed between high and low wealth. How a true lover destroys his love without getting it is presented in this book. Along with this, some important events and social situations of the society have been captured in this book.
The book has gained so much popularity that the book has been made into a movie three times. The last time it was made was on May 23, 2002.
Today I present the 2002 film to you. In this film, too, that good home has been beautifully portrayed. The sets of the film, the charming performances of the actors and actresses, and the songs presented in the film have all been portrayed so beautifully that one wants to watch the film again and again. When the hero of the film dies near his lover's house at the end of the film, the scene brings tears to the eyes.
A true form of love has been revealed in this film. There has also been an incident of accepting death without getting love in this film.
Another video trailer of the movie Devdas
From the film you have seen above, what can you say about the strengths and weaknesses of the film compared to the book/novel?- |
---|
The film was directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali in the last edition of the film Devdas. He is a famous filmmaker. The films he makes are innovative. While making the film, he used modern technology while keeping the original story of the novelist Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay intact. Due to this the film has gained more acceptance than the story.
He has set the highest budget for each song in the film released in 2002. His main theme is to make unique films. And he does not skimp on any single thing. The set choreography, dialogues, and acting of the film were all extraordinary. And these are the main strengths of this film.

Every episode of this film is interesting, but the incident that I liked the most is described below-
Paro (main actress) and Devdas (Main actor) loved each other since childhood. Devdas is the son of a landlord and goes to Britain for higher studies. Before leaving, he tells his lover to keep the lamp lit, waiting for his return. His lover Paro keeps the lamp lit that day. She does not let this lamp go out until Devdas returns home after completing his studies.
Reasons for love: -
By keeping the lamp lit, Paro remembers her lover every moment, and she never forgets Devdas. Every moment she looks after the lamp. She believes that She will keep her love alive by lighting the lamp. This scene shows the power of love. How much sacrifice can be made in love, a reflection of it has emerged from now on.
If you want to write a book on the movie, how will that part be written to impress the reader?- |

Literature is not an easy task. I do not have any of the talent, creativity, knowledge, and team to write literature. Then I am asked to write a book on the movie Devdas, but I will edit the small things while keeping the main theme. Especially the respected writer Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay and the respected director of the movie Devdas, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, have presented some incidents of the oppression of women in society. Which is really a true incident. Women are oppressed by men at every step. But now it is time to protest against it. Now both men and women have the right to enjoy equal rights. It is wrong to oppress and oppress women by waiting for their opinions. And whoever does this will definitely be punished.
Devdas, having lost his lover, destroys himself by drinking alcohol.
I would have presented this message in my book. So that those who read my book can now gain courage and strength. If it is a warning sign to stay away from injustice, it is a man. And if it is a woman, she will have the courage to stand up for her rights.
