Who is a tailor?

A tailor is a person who stitches designs or adjusts clothes to make them fit properly. Some peoples thinks a tailor is only someones who repairs clothes but it is much more than thats. A tailor is an artists in their owns way because they takes a plain piece of cloths and turn it into a beautiful dress. For specials occasions like weddings birthdays or culturally events we need tailors because ready-made clothes do nothing always fit our size or matching our choice. Tailors also helps us feel comfortable and confident in what we wear.

What are some criteria for a good tailor?

For me a good tailor should have many qualities. The first and most important is neat stitching. If the sewing is not clean then even the most expensive cloth looks cheap. The second quality is understanding the customer. A tailor must listen carefully to the design and style the customer wants otherwise the dress will not look good. Another very important point is time management. Many tailors delay work which is very painful for customers especially when the dress is needed for an event. A good tailor also charges fair prices and does not ask for too much money. Lastly good behavior and respect for customers is important. A tailor who is polite honest and cooperative always wins the heart of people.

Have you been disappointed by a tailor before? What was your reaction and how did you manage?

Yes i have been disappointed and I still remember that experience clearly. I once gave my cloth to a tailor before Eid. I explained the design to him very carefully telling him i wanted embroidery on the sleeves and a simple border on the shirt. He promised that the dress would be ready in one week. When i went to collect it not only was it late but the design was completely different. The fitting was too tight the length was shorter than i asked and the embroidery was missing. I was very upset and angry because it was Eid and i wanted to wear that dress. The tailor tried to convince me by saying “It still looks good ” but for me it was ruined. My reaction was full of disappointment. I argued with him but in the end i had to manage by wearing another dress. From this incident i learned a lesson that i should always give my cloth to a trusted tailor.

Yes I can confidently recommend my current tailor. I found him through a friend and since then i have been very satisfied. His outlet is small but very clean and organized. There are many designs hanging on the walls so customers can get ideas easily. The sewing machines are modern and well-maintained and he has one assistant who helps him. The environments of his shop feels calmed and welcoming and he always greets customers politely. One things i liked about him is punctuality. If he promises seven days the dress wills be ready in seven days not evens one day late. His stitching is very neats and he pays closed attention to details. Once i showed him a picture of a dress from the internet and he copied the design perfectly. His pricing is also very fair. For a simple suit he charges less and for fancy dresses the price is higher but still reasonable compared to other tailors. His customer service is excellent. He listens carefully gives honest suggestions and never forces his own choice on the customer. I recommend him to other Steemians because he is professional trustworthy and skilled. You will not face the disappointment that i faced before with other tailors. Instead you will be happy with his work fair prices and good service.
