I am excited to participate in this contest "my fundamental human rights".

HUMAN RIGHTS
Human rights are the basic privileges a person enjoys and which are essential for human existence. It is transferred to man by nature and every individual is entitled to them. It should be enjoyed without hinderance.

These rights includes:
Right to life
Right to freedom of expression, press and opinion
Right to education
Right to freedom of movement
Right to personal liberty
Right to private and family life
Right to vote and be voted for
Right to dignity of human person
Right to peaceful assembly
Right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion
Right to have friends and marry anyone in the country
Right to belong to any political party
Right to contest during election
Right to acquire and own property
Right to engage in lawful business
Right to employment
Right to belong to any cultural group or gathering
Right to participate in cultural ceremony
Right to worship the god of the land or community
Right to speak ones native language
Right to legal help
Right to fair and equal hearing
Right to freedom from discrimination
Right to be tried in the law court etc

WAYS OF PREVENTING HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSE

Human rights abuse is the unlawful deprivation of one's human rights either by an individual, group, or government. That is, when one's human rights are restricted wrongly by government or infringed upon by another person.

The following are ways of preventing human rights abuse:

Mass education : when there is widespread of education, people will know their rights and when such rights are abused .

Rule of law: the rule of law should be upheld and respected by the government and the people. They should know that no one is above the law of the land.

Democracy: when the principles and practices of democracy are observed, human rights abuse will be a thing of the past .

Legal aids: there should be provision of legal aids to the less privileged, this will prevent the abuse of human rights
