The Diary Game: How I Managed my 1st May Being Public Holiday (1-05-2025)

Happy new month to you all, welcome to another beautiful and exciting month, I pray that everything we could not achieve in the previous months will be a work over in these month Amen 🙏🙏

Guess what!

We are already in the fifth month of the year, see how time flies. Yesterday was the first day of the month and public holiday precisely observed by the State and the whole country, It was set aside to celebrate workers day, those who work in both private and public sector basically for civil servants. These public holiday was mainly for civil servants which they were selected to celebrate their day with the governor and others executive members of the state in the stadium.

Here's how I managed My day

Every first day of the month we usually have a program in my church tagged "Fresh Anointing", a moment to commit the new month into God's hand,a notification was sent our church platform reminding us about the day.

Unfortunately, I was not able to attend the fresh anointing because of the heavy down poured that took place the previous night which make my area to be flooded,so I rather did my prayers at home which I turn it to fasting and prayer since it was public holiday. I stayed indoor from morning till around 12pm which I broke my fasting and help out in cooking afang soup.

In the afternoon I prepare afang soup for my father since he loves it has his favorite dish and we have it enough in our compound, I can't remember the last time I bought these leaf in the market,we usually plug them in the farm. So I entered the farm plug afang leave and water leaf at the same time washed both of them and I wilt only afang to reduce moisture before slicing it. After slicing it I pound it with mortar and pestle, I feel this is the most difficult thing for me in cooking this soup, I used all my strength and energy to pound it, I don't like it to be rough so I ensure that I properly pound it.

After pounding, I steam my soup items and cook my delicious soup.

After cooking I dish the soup and keep for my siblings, I was exhausted I couldn't turn fufu so I left it for my brother when he came back around 6:30pm in the evening that's when he prepare the fufu and we all ate the food as dinner.

That was how I managed my 1st May and I had a rewarding day at home.
