Congratulations 🎉🎉 to StayFit football club! 3.1 was the scoreline

We looked like David in the presence of Goliath of the Bible who was a giant compared to David, a tiny little boy who boldly confronted that giant. We looked intimidated before Ultrafit team who appeared like Giants. The players built their body and they appeared huge in all ramifications. The sizes of their chests and legs were intimidating.

They came to the field at exactly the scheduled time, 3pm on this past Sunday, while we were yet to appear. They put up a call across me and that added to the intimidating atmosphere. My team members didn't come out early, I became so disorganised and started putting calls across to them.

Well, it was a Sunday and everyone had different engagements. For instance, my Christian meeting usually closes by 2 pm and after which, I had to wait for my husband who had meetings that delayed us till past 3 pm. We had to drive home a d got dressed for the field.

Other members had theirs and these differences in engagements and timing made us to be there behind schedule. Our opponents took advantage of our absence to train in the field a d as we were entering, seeing them alone, we were gripped with fear. But what can we do? The match is fixed already. One thing is certain: we must play against them and one then must win or there will be a draw but we can't win. The field is our home, we can't afford to disappoint our supporters.

Mustering courage, we went into the field despite as soon as the referee signalled the both teams. After the prerequisites, my team greeted the other team to welcome them during which they said some derogatory words to us, proving how inferior we were compares to them. According to them, my team members didn't have big chests, they don't go to gym to build their bodies and they are coming to play football with them. Well, the end justifies the means.

The match began in ernest. Of a truth, they pressured my team with their bodies. They pressed forward to score, but my team were undeterred. They pushed forward too, they got and missed some opportunities to score our opponents. They took got some chances that they missed and some that my keeper saved. It went that way that before the end of first half, we conceded a goal. It was so discouraging, As though their wish is coming to fulfilment. Before long, the first half ended. We bowed low, but undeterred. The teams regrouped and gave encouragements to theirs teams.

As for us, we gave them sachet water and candles that we had arranged. Then they were all encouraged not to give up. Some instructions were issued out and they gained confidence again. After 15 minutes, the referee signalled the both teams to come and start the second half.

We went again, and my team tried their best. Before long, a penalty was awarded to us because their was a rough play inside the 18. We were so happy, went it was played by one of my team member, it was a goal. Never missed. Imagine how happy we were! That singular goal became a turnaround for us. We pressured them. Though they did pressure us in return, but theirs yielded no results as we gave them more 2 goals afterwards without them scoring anyone further second half. It ended in victory to us.

While were rejoicing, they bowed in humiliation. David has defeated Goliath. They were unable to leave. They stayed back and watched us dance around in victory. I couldn't imagine that this little, insignificant team could win. Come to think of it: they are a well known gym in my city of residence, the oldest and a body building gym, their coach is the current President for all the fitness instructors here in my state of residence, they have all the equipments for fitness training and they are well known, even professional footballers gym there. I am in no way close to them but the game of football doesn't consider all those histories and fame. Skills are what determines the winner.

Here we are, rejoicing after winning an elephant so to speak. I was so happy. I went and greeted them all and they were amazed at the fact that despite being a woman, I love football that much.

There and then, another fitness coach that came with them told me that he has females that can play with my female team. I am waiting him to inform them and get back to me and then the game will be fixed. It's becoming more and more interesting 🤔!

Meanwhile, the just concluded match between us and Ultrafit was hosted by us. We paid all the bills to host it. The 5k for the field maintenance, then 3k for the referee, the candy, water and other things including the banner which I designed. When it will be their turn to host, they will cute some bills.

As for the return match, it has been conceived already. The next day after the match, their coach congratulated me on my WhatsApp page and then informed me that we should expect return match. They can't wait to reclaim their lost glory, lol 😂 😂 😂!
