All the Verification process is completed As a Staff Of The Polytechnic. I witnessed The Grand opening of Aba Export Growth Lab by The Governor
After collecting my employment letter from the Rector of Dr Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic, I proceeded with other things that will make me a genuine and full staff of the polytechnic. It was in this post that I mentioned that I have received my Employment letter. Then I was sent to do my documentation in the SSP (senior staff personnel) department where I was given the documents to fill out and then present my original certificates as well as the photocopies. Thankfully, I had all my documents in tact. So, filling the form and doing my documentations was without any hitch.
After the documentation, I was sent bac6to the Rector for my verification code. It wasn't easy to see him. I visited severally and I finally got it on Friday last week. Then, I went back to the SSP to be guided for the verification. There, I was given the state site where I could proceed with the verification. After opening the site, I started entering all my information both personal, salary account details, details of my next of kin, pension information and so on. I was successful in filling out all the online forms and then the page to be printed out was ready for me to print out.
I went to the cyber café and printed 2 copies of it which I submitted to the SSP for stamping. Then I was directed to the Rector again who will stamp and approve the form for capturing. The other form was kept in Rector's office. It was easy to get the Rector to stamp on that copy because I didn't have to go in in person but through a designated staff. Once the stamped and signed copy was given me, I was to take it to the capital city of the state which is Umuahia for capturing. But it was late already and I wanted to travel back to my family. I left it till this week.

Yesterday, which is Tuesday, I travelled back to my city of employment. I got there as early as 7.45 am with a heavy rain but I had to rush to the capital city for the capturing because it was announced in the department I am posted to that the Governor of my employment state, Governor Alex Oti will be coming to the polytechnic for the grand opening of the Aba Export Growth Lab which has just been built in the Polytechnic and all staff in the department were to be present to welcome home and also attend the program.
I was able to to the designated office which is the Office of the Head of Service for the capturing. However, upon getting there by 9am, the staff that was supposed to capture me hadn't arrived yet. I had to wait. Remember that the Grand opening was to take place by 10am as announced. I couldn't go back to the polytechnic without accomplishing my mission. I had to wait. Those staff came to the office by 2pm. You can imagine that! Anyways, in the end, I was captured by 3.40pm due to network challenges and I immediately left to the polytechnic. Die to the heavy downpour, I was told that the opening didn't take place again over the phone but when I got there, I noticed that the Governor came but he came by rpm when the rain subsided.

I then went to the vanue and saw my colleagues there, the opening has been done and the Governor and other dignitaries where inside but the event was being transmitted to those outside via a projector. So, I had to seat down and listen to the remaining part of the program. Everywhere was filled up with both security personnels and witnesses to the event including students. I was there when a Representative of a foreign bank spoke and promised to lend a helping hand in terms of loans to the small and medium scale enterprises so that they can excel in their productions of quality products that can meet the foreign standards for exportation.
After her speech, the Governor also spoke in appreciation to the woman and guaranteed that the products that will be certified in the Lab will be of a good quality that will meet all the criteria for exportation. The video below will shed more light on what I witnessed. I was really tired and stressed out after returning from the capital city under that heavy rain but I just had to be there to fulfil my obligations.
Before long after the Governor finished his speech, he left along with his entourage. You can watch him leave in the video I have attached here below.

That was it for the day. The capturing makes me a complete staff now who is also waiting to receive her first salary. I have spent a lot of money running around to be able to complete all the processes of employment as a staff of the Dr Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic. The dream is now actualised. All that is left is for me to begin reading in preparation for lectures because I have been attached to a lecturer who has told me all that I need to do and the days she has lectures, some of which she will assign me to go and lecture. I pray for wisdom.I went to my lodge and fetched water that I will use in the morning because I have been assigned to a team that will supervise project topic defence.
