A Soccer ⚽ Rematch Between Team HFC and Team StayFit Ended 4.1 In our favour

It was late last year when the first leg of this match was played in our home. Then, it ended draw, 2.2 in our own home. We entertained our opponent in the end and it was a very fun game. Since then, I have been asking the team leader of our opponent when this rematch will be fixed. His response has always been that they are still getting ready for it.

Finally, the rematch was fixed to be on Thursday, 12th June 2025. That date was chosen because it is a public holiday when most workers will be free to join in the game. After relating the news to my fitness group, they accept the date and preparations went on. Our opponents was supposed to despite announcement banner and send to us but I volunteered to design it and it was accepted by them. We posted it to create awareness.

Yesterday was the day of the game, I announced that we all should go to our workout location and take off from there by 7am. Yes, the match was fixed to be by 8am. I put a call across to those that will play the match and others too. I was able to go out at few minutes past 7am and others came out too and by 8am, we left. Members volunteered their vehicles and took us there.

As soon as we got there, our opponents were already waiting for us. We got dressed in our jersey. This jersey is the Steemit jersey I bought and printed on about 4 years ago when I was the country representative. I bought it so that I can be able to promote steem through soccer ⚽. Thankfully, it is still serving it's purpose till now.

The referee signalled both team to line up for match formalities. The game kicked off by 8.40 am with our opponent starting the game.. we mounted much pressure on our opponent and were able to score the first goal in less than 10 minutes into the game. Our opponent equally mounted pressure in return to be able to equalise. They got what they wanted by equalising.

We we began again with our pressure and before the end of the first half which lasted for 30 minutes as agreed by the both team, we scored 2 more to bring an end to that first half. Hence, we were leading by 3 goals to 1. It was a sensational game but we pulled through. Our dread entered them and at the end of the first half, they were given I striction on how to make their way to success. But we took were ready for them.

Second half began with some changes. We changed 4 changes of 3 male and 1 female. Yes, I forgot to tell you that the match is mixed, 3 females and 8 males. The game changed as a result but both teams did their best to succeed, we went for more goals while they tried to reply the goals they already concede. We scored 3 offside goals that were ruled off according to the rule. But we later added one more goal to seal the game to 4.1 in our favour.

All efforts to score by our opponent proved abortive as we had a very strong defender who never allowed any ball to pass him by. We equally got about 5 yellow cards while our opponents got only 2. Towards the end of the game, we made more changes to bring in new players. Everyone wants to play to be part of the success. Even I had to go out for my daughter to play. It was very fun for us. In 30 minutes time into the second half, the game was brought to an end and we jubilated.

The funniest aspect is when we danced in jubilation at the end of the game. I also danced as you will notice. Next, we were greatly entertained by our opponent. They really prepared for us. They gave us Rice, meat, water, soft drink and spirits. Everyone ate and drank to their fill.

Our opponent never took the goals they conceded to heart, they rejoiced with us and proposed another tournament. This time around, we will be the first to also host them. According to them, they will be more prepared next time.
