**Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 75: My fundamental human rights
Greetings everyone!
It's my pleasure to be here in this great community.
How do you explain fundamental human rights?
Fundamental human rights are those privileges enjoyed by every citizen of a country regardless of their age, gender, religion, nationality and any other status. Every human being regardless of nationality is entitled to fundamental human rights which is essential for living a free and fulfilling life.
This concept "Human rights" entails that all human being are equal and were born free,, so all humans are supposed to be treated with same worth, dignity and without any form of discrimination.
We have fundamental human rights such as; Right to life, freedom of speech, right to vote and be voted for, right to fair trail, right to education, right to security and liberty, freedom of conscience, religion and thought, freedom from slavery etc. This human right helps with promotion of equality and justice,, as well citizens well-being.
Do you think all the citizens have these rights, or is it only made for the rich? (You can give examples if any).
The sad truth is that,, not all citizens have these rights as it is expected to be. The rich enjoy most of these rights than the poor Masses.
Some of the rights that are usually enjoyed by the rich that the poor have little or no access to are; access to quality education, good healthcare, freedom of expression and assembly, fair trial and granting of justice etc.
All the above listed rights and many more are enjoyed by the rich than the poor Masses as a result of corruption, economical inequality, discrimination and marginalization etc.
Economic inequality, institutions and governance should be strengthened, empowerment of marginalized areas, and non discrimination should be promoted in order to enhance equal access to these rights!!
Have you been deprived of expressing your fundamental human rights before? What action did you take?
No!
I haven't been deprived of any of these fundamental human rights before and I never wish to experience such because,, I have read and heard of sad experiences of people who have been deprived of expressing their fundamental human rights and how the managed to come out of such situations. It is an experience I never want to have!
Mention and explain at most three fundamental human rights of your country.
Below are the three fundamental human rights of my country (Nigeria)..
- Right to dignity of human person.
- Right to life.
- Right to personal liberty.
Right to dignity of human person: Right to dignity of human person as one of the fundamental human rights of Nigeria,, prevents it citizens from being treated as slaves i.e being subjected to slavery, and it also protects them from hard labor etc.
Right to life: Every Nigerian is entitled to live their life,, and can only be denied this right in cases such as; prevention of the escape of someone who is lawfully detained, or in criminal offense that warrant the court to execute life in prisonmet on the person found wanted etc.
Right to personal liberty: Every citizen of Nigeria is entitled to this right, which entails that every citizen is free from arrest or detention that are unlawful. And they can only be deprived of this right in regards to prevention of commiting a criminal offense.
Which of the fundamental human rights should be removed from the law. (Give your reasons).
I want to make emphasis on the importance of fundamental human rights which are so crucial for protecting the lives, well-being, dignity and property of every citizen. By removing any of these rights, there will be a whole lot of consequences and human dignity, justice and promotion of equality will be greatly reduced.
So therefore,, I am on the opinion that no fundamental human rights should be removed from the law!!!

Thank you for reviewing my post ma'am
Weldon. I think the citizens should be educated on their various rights, cos ignorance also plays part in someone's right being violated.
Yeah you are very correct 💯
Yes I like this right because so many likes to spoil ones reputation but if everyone keeps this right in mind such will stop. And everyone too should value and protect their dignity.
Thanks for stopping by
