The diary game(04-june-2025) "I cooked potatoes with egg sauce and it was delicious!"
It's funny how I began this cooking activity, but in the end, I truly enjoyed it. The amusing part is that I had never cooked or prepared this dish before. So, how did I come up with this challenge? Let me share the story.
It was a beautiful day; I woke up and thanked my creator for my life. Next, I prepared to go to work. On my way to my workplace, I stopped by to see my friend Ezekiel. Ezekiel is a young, talented businessman. We chatted for a few minutes while I helped him attend to his customers. At some point, I noticed some broken eggs in the crates. I asked him if I could take them, and he agreed.
But what was I going to do with the eggs? Should I buy some Indomie? No, I had eaten Indomie and eggs recently. I thought about what I could do with the eggs until I finally came up with a solution. I remembered that my boss had given me some potatoes that I hadn't used yet. That sounded like a great idea, but I’d never made a sauce before. How was I going to do it? Technology came to my aid. In just a second, I found a simple way to prepare potatoes with egg sauce. Guess how I did it? I used my phone! I opened my browser and typed: "How to prepare potatoes and egg sauce," and within moments, I had several recipes to choose from.
I could have asked my friend, but I knew Ezekiel would laugh hard at me. So, I chose a simple recipe that was budget-friendly. I bought some spices and seasoning and then headed to my shop. When I arrived, I did my usual routine of arranging goods outside for sale. After that, it was time to make my breakfast. Let me break down the procedure and the steps on how I prepared potatoes with egg sauce (low budget).
Foodstuff needed:
- Potatoes
- Eggs
- Maggi (seasoning cube)
- Sachet pepper
- Onion
- Spices
- Groundnut oil

Preparation:
- I took my potatoes, peeled them, and cut them into small portions.

- I washed the pieces and placed them into my cooking pot. I added a pinch of salt for taste.

- I lit my stove and placed the pot on it. I added a small amount of water and covered it, letting it cook for a few minutes.
- I checked constantly to ensure they weren't getting too soft. After cooking for some time, I removed them from the heat, drained the water, and set them aside.
Preparing egg sauce:
- I broke the eggs into a plate.

- I added a small portion of Maggi and pepper to the eggs.
- I whisked the eggs using a spoon until everything was well-mixed.
- I sliced the onions into very small pieces.
- I placed a pot on the fire and added groundnut oil to fry.
- I added the sliced onions, pepper, salt, and spices to the oil. I allowed them to fry for a few minutes.
- Finally, I poured the whisked eggs into the pot and stirred continuously to mix them with the onions and spices. I added a little water to make it softer and stirred frequently until I achieved my desired sauce.
- I washed my serving tray, added some potatoes, and topped it with the sauce. Yummy! 😋
