My Neighborhood Watch #88 - Reporting Events Around us

Greetings Friends

My neighborhood has been lively for some weeks now and I have been too busy to prepare for updates or gists I can use to participate in this contest successfully. Today am here again with an update related to sports. Many of us in this platform already engage in sports and we are very much familiar with mostly football. I just want to focus on football today.

There's this two engineering department in one of the universities in Rivers State who decided to have a friendly match and this match turned out to be a quality match. Remain small there would have been a VAR in the match 😂😂. I was just seriously focused on how the match was going. The two teams were well dressed and prepared for the game.

My friend's team is the one with green and yellow jersey while their opponent is obviously the guys wearing Barcelona jersey. Before the match started alot of spectators were predicting that the team with the Barcelona jersey will win. I think that team is Chemical Engineering students and my friend's team are the guys in Electrical Engineering.

Football is very common among Engineering departments in most of the schools in Nigeria. The match started in the evening in one of the days last week, I have forgotten the particular day. Alot of people were present and I forgot to get a picture of the crowd, I only focused on the players before and after the match.

The Electrical Engineering players were giving their fans especially me so much joy because of their wonderful performance. The won in the first half (2-0) and I believed they will score more goals. The second half started and their opponent finally scored a goal. Another thing led to a penalty and the Electrical Engineering players were scared because they don't want their opponent to equalize with them.

Something shocking happened, their goalkeeper caught the ball and the penalty by their opponent was missed. Everywhere was so noisy that moment, nobody expected the goalkeeper to do such a thing. Towards the ending of the game the Electrical Engineering players scored another goal by one of their players who scored one in the first half and the match ended with them winning it (3-1).

The guy who scored two goals was made the Player of the match and the goalkeeper who caught a penalty was also rewarded. Fans of the losing team which is the Chemical Engineering players were disgusted and they kept on saying that Barcelona don't play trash the way they did that day. They jokingly told them not to wear that jersey again if they can't win a match.
