The Ultimate Gift
The Ultimate Gift is a 2006 Hollywood drama directed by Michael O. Sajbel. Based on the contest requirements, The Ultimate Gift is within the acceptable range for me to evaluate. So let's see how to evaluate this 117-minute-long movie, filled with lessons.
Welcome, grab some popcorn and let's start.
The Ultimate Gift is a screen adaptation of a book that goes by the same name. The book was written by Jim Stovall. It was adapted into a movie by Cheryl McKay.
●The main idea in The Ultimate Gift.
The Ultimate Gift has personal growth and selfe development as its main idea, looking at the transformation of Jason Stevens, his journey through personal growth, self-discovery, and the valuable lessons he had to learn about himself, true friendship, the true value of money, family and work which shaped his personality from a self centered person to someone who genuinely cared about others.

●Share the characters
I would love to start with the introduction of the movie's main characters
Jason Stevens:
The main protagonist, a young man, is initially portrayed as spoilt, entitled and self-centred. Who took up a life-changing challenge set up by his dead grandfather and got transformed as he scaled through the different stages in the challenge as the movie progressed. Acted by Andrew Alan "Drew" Fuller.
Howard "Red" Stevens:
Jason's billionaire grandfather devises a very unique inheritance plan that will teach his favourite grandson some valuable life lessons. Red Stevens left behind a vast estate and a training plan to shape the one who shall inherit most of his wealth.
Other supporting characters in the movie.
Mr Hamilton:
Red Stevens' lawyer and friend, the enforcer of Red Stevens' will and challenge, who plays a very significant role in guiding Jason through his journey.. Acted by Wilbert Francisco Cobbs. Mr Hamilton is one of my favourite characters in this movie, though I am still having a hard time trying to figure out why, but that is what it is. Mr Hamilton's assistant, Ms. Margaret Hastings, was well played by Lee Ann Meriwether.
Emily Rose:
Emily Rose was portrayed by Abigail Breslin, and she effortlessly nailed the role as a pretty little girl with leukaemia. She becomes an important part of Jason's life, teaching him the gift of problems. In Jason's journey, I really think it was his ability to forge that true friendship with little Emily that turned the tables around in Jason's life, giving him that unique opportunity to start learning how to show love and genuinely care for another person's interests besides himself.
Gus Caldwell:
Red's friend, who owns a ranch where Jason works, learn him the value of hard work.
Brian:
A young man who becomes friends with Jason and teaches him the value of money.
David Reese:
The man who teache Jason the gift of laughter..
Nathan:
A former orphan is helped by Red, who teaches Jason the meaning of family.
●Plot and setting of the movie.
The Ultimate Gift movie is the story of Jason Stevens. A spoiled young man who reluctantly accepted a journey of self-discovery and growth. A path presented to him as a challenge from his dead grandfather.
Some senses are acted in the city, while others are in the hot desert of Texas or the jungle. He must succeed a series of 12 challenges to inherit his grandfather's vast fortune. Showing how intelligent Red Stevens was, he effectively moulded the young man even from his grave. Each challenge was carefully crafted to teach Jason a valuable life lesson about hard work, friendship, love, and the true meaning and value of wealth.
Jason quickly loses all the money, materialpossessionsn and his lifestyle, which results in the loss of his former friends and acquaintances. With instructions that relatives should not offer any help, Jason has to take up manual labourous work at Gus Caldwell's ranch, a parched desert away from civilisation, where he learnt how to work and wait for his first pay cheque.
While it is easy to attract friends when wealthy, Jason is asked to bring a real friend who will accept him as poor as he is, and that is how he meets Emily Rose. He had to learn how to put other people's needs ahead of himself.
Became compassionate with a new lifestyle, and made a new and better version of himself.
Though he may not have a dream of his own, he is now ready to help others fulfil their dreams.
●Assuming I was the Director of the Ultimate Gift
I would have kept Emily alive and at the end written it that she later passed. Outside of this, I loved the movie and wish a lot of people could learn from it.
