In your own sentence, what do you think conflict means?

In my understanding, "Conflict" is a struggle or disagreement between persons, individuals caused by differences in opinions. In other words, it can also be defined as a disruption caused by differences in thought, ideas, etc. For instance, if two friends falls in love with same guy, it will surely result to conflict. In all, Conflict arises from opposing ideas.

Mention at least 4 ways conflict can be resolved in workplace, home or among friends

Conflict can arise at anytime or anywhere. It can happen at homes, workplaces, offices, between best friends, marriages, relationship, etc. Whenever conflict arise, there are also ways to resolve them. Some of these solutions included;

• Identify the problem by finding out what the source of the conflict is.
• Give both sides a listening ear.
• Work through their differences, thought, and ideas.
• Figure out what you want to say and how to say it. Don't blame others.
• Apologize to each other and acknowledge your mistakes.
• Negotiation. Try to negotiate with each and follow-up.
• Work towards understanding.
• Lastly, end with a win-win solution.

Have you been in conflict with anyone before? How was it resolved?

On a norms, I don't usually have problems or conflict with people because am a cool girl and I do avoid things that will bring about conflict between me and people around me. But, I can remember vividly on how I had a very serious conflict at work between me and my colleague then. This story am about to share with you happened last year August. I worked as a secretary in a pure water company. At the end of sales each day, i was the one who calculates the money made for the day and also put down the expenses too. It was going smoothly for like 3 months until I began to notice shortage in the company's account.

That time, my pay was okay for me. So, when the shortages incurred, I use the little money from my salary to complete the sales money each day. The reason I did this is because I knew the kind of manager I had and if I should complain to him about the shortages, it will warrant more punishment to me. As time went on, the shortages was getting out of hand. I decided to lay a complain to him. I told him everything and the man didn't believe me, rather he said I was the one eating the money. I felt so sad, I had no other choice than to remain mute.

One day, I came to work,did my daily activities by cleaning up the office. So after that, I locked up the drawer where I usually keep the sales money and went downstairs to buy what to eat. I bought snacks and headed up to my office. Un-reaching my office, lo and behold, it was my best friend Sharon who works in the same company with me, taking money from the drawer. I caught her red-handed and she was speechless. I burst into tears because she has been the one who has been taking money from the drawer all this while. Also, I helped her to get the job into the company because she needed money then to pay her sibling's fees.

Immediately, I alerted the manager and he came. I began to shout at her, because i least expected that from her. She yelled back at me saying that she was very jealous of me and my position in the company, that she was doing all of those things for me to be fired from the company. To cut the story short, Sharon was sacked from that company, seized her salary for the month and her allowances too. Soon, Sharon was no where to be seen, so we didn't had time to reconcile.

In Summary, Conflict can happen at anywhere or time. So if a conflict arises in your home, workplaces, church, friends, etc, try to know each other differences or opinions and resolve the issue.
