Steem4nigeria Accelerator Contest Week 91: My worst Traveling Experience

in Steem4Nigeria8 days ago

Hello, friends welcome to my post in which I have discussed "My Worst Travel Experience" as part of my participation in this 👉contest.

Do you also love traveling and what kind of traveling do you do? (Business, vacation, visit, etc)

Traveling is one of the things that I love. Each time I have money, I will just begin to feel like traveling for vacation, business, or visiting. I love traveling because it is part of education that exposes me to a lot of things that are outside my comfort zone.

The good thing about traveling is that each time that I travel, I come across new people with who we become tight friends, and I exploit another part of Nigeria to get myself exposed to the culture and traditions that are outside of my state.

What is your worst traveling experience with us?

My worst traveling experience was last year. On my way returning from Abuja, the vehicle that I was in had an accident that led to the death of the motorcycle rider, who died at the spot while the passenger of the motorcycle was rushed to the hospital as she was unconscious. It was the first time I experienced an accident that was so fatal.

On Sunday morning, I Left the city of Abuja at the hotel where I was lodged to Maraba so I could get a vehicle to Akwanga after spending the weekend with my cousin's brother. While at Maraba, the first vehicle that I saw, I refused to enter the vehicle because of overload. My mind started telling me to stay by. I was having double mine on that day while at the motor park.

Finally, I then decided to enter the available vehicle, and I sat at the back of the vehicle, pressing my phone. The vehicle drove out of town and went to a filling station and bought fuel, after leaving the filling station and dove for about 10 minutes, we had an accident which was caused by the vehicle that was ahead of the vehicle that I was in.

Immediately, the accident happened that led to the death of the Okada rider, the vehicle I was in, and the other vehicle got spoilt because the tires got spoilt. Everyone ran out of the vehicle for safety, and the drivers ran for their lives as for me, I was left stranded, which I then later sorted myself out.

Was the cause of the experience something you could have avoided or it's something you didn't see coming at all?

No one prays for an accident, and if the accident is something that one could see before it happens, then it can be avoided, but it is hard to avoid an accident when driving at a high speed, which I believe was the cause of the accident. Yes, an accident is something the driver could have avoided even as the driver didn't see it coming at all, but it could have avoided it by driving slowly and not at a high speed.

Is there any advice or tips you would love to give to your readers about traveling?

To my readers, whenever you are traveling, just prepare yourself ahead of time and hold extra money in case an emergency situation like an accident, which we don't pray for, happens or there is a breakdown of the vehicle.

Your extra money would help you not to remain stranded on the road. Also, if you are the one driving or riding motorcycles or any moveable thing, avoid speeding as it is dangerous to be driving at speed on a Highway. When you're at high speed, it would be difficult for you to overcome an accident, but when you are driving slowly, you can overcome the accident and be on the safer side.

Saludos amigo. Encantado de leerte. Ciertamente la mejor forma de evitar un accidente es conduciendo a baja velocidad, no es infalible pero si se puede majenar mejor la situación cuando se conduce a baja velocidad. Te deseo éxitos y bendiciones

I love your use of original pictures to depict this topic. You've had rough turns from this experience shared. Best of luck. You can improve your introduction by eliminating greetings as they may not be necessary to attract readers. But I love your use of pictures. Top notch
