This is @isha.rehman and I hope you all are doing well. Today I am happy to participate in the Week 2 challenge of Movie Snapshots. The theme “Book to Screen” is fascinating because it explore how stories transform across different mediums. Let dive in.

Do I think an idea is better written as a book/novel or acted out as a movie? Which do I prefer?

In my opinion both book and movies offer unique experience that enrich storytelling in different way. Book allow readers to immerse themselve in the character inner thought emotion and backstorie. They invite the reader imagination to build the world painting vivid picture with words and allowing for a more personal connection. On the other hand movies bring storie to life through visual and auditory element. The use of actor music cinematography and special effect creates a sensory experience that can evoke immediate emotion and create memorable impression.

Personally I enjoy both medium but I often find myself more captivated by movie. The ability to see a story unfold with moving image hear the character voice and experience the atmosphere through music make movie a powerful way to connect with a story quickly and deeply. However I respect the depth and introspection that book provide which sometime movie cannot fully capture due to time constraint or the nature of the medium.

The movie I watched adapted from a book is The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Strengths and weaknesse of the movie compared to the book:

Baz Luhrmann The Great Gatsby are visualy stunning film this masterfully captured the extravagance & decadence of the 1920 Jazz Age. The set costume and vibrant cinemato graphy beautifully recreated the lavish lifestyle Leonardo DiCaprio performance as Jay Gatsby bring the Character charmed and energatic personality to life in compelling way The film modern soundtrack add an energetic & Emotional layered that resonate with contemporary audience making the story feel both timeles and relevants

However while the movie excel in its visual and auditory presentation it falled short in conveying some of the novel deeper literary qualitie. The book rich symbolism nuanced social critique and the reflective often melancholic narration by Nick Carraway are somewhat overshadowed by the film fast paced dramatic style. The internal struggle and motivations of character are less explored which can make the story feel less layered compared to Fitzgerald intricate prose. The novel subtlety and introspection are challenging to translate fully to screen and some of the themes about the American Dream and moral decay feel simplified.

What captivate me most in the movie:

The most captivating aspect of the movie was the grandeur of Gatsby partie and the poignant loved story betwen Gatsby and Daisy. The depiction of the glittering yet hollow world of wealth and exces combine with Gatsby tragic yearning for dream that might never come true create a powerful emotional impact. The contrast between the bright festive scene and the underlying loneliness and desperation strucked me deeply. Additionally the movie use of music from jazz to contemporary hip hop added a fresh energy that helpe me connect emotionally with the character and their struggle.

If I were to write a book based on the movie:

If I were to write a novel inspired by the movie I would focus extensively on Gatsby internal world exploring his hope fear and the contradiction within his character. I would describe the lavish partie in vivid detail not just as scene of luxury but as moment revealing the emptiness behind the glamour I would develop Nick narrative voice to provide reflective insight into the moral decay and illusion of the era The writing would aim to immerse reader in the tension between appearance and reality illustrating Gatsby relentles pursuit of an idealized love that ultimately leads to heartbreak. Through rich emotional language I would try to makes reader feel the bittersweet mixture of hope illusion and loss that define the story.
