Hi steemit family, greetings from this part of the globe. I believe you all are doing fine. I am very very as well. Today I will like to share with you my yesterday's activity. Yesterday of course was very successful though sandwich in between stress. I had an appointment to visit a farm for consultation. The appointment was booked between the owner of the farm and myself. In the early hours of the day, the weather was not so clement as the sky was behaving as though it was going to drop rains. Thus, I lingered my movement a bit in wait to see how the weather will react. Here in the state, we are in the heart of raining season, so the expectation for rainfall is usually high during this period. You really have to plan your day with rain inclusive in case it does happen.
As much as I thought, at about 8:13am (GMT +1), the usual happened, it started like drizzling before I knew it, it was heavy rainfall that lasted for about an hour. As and allergic person to cold, I waited for that fall to subside before I make out my movement. Finally, when the sky changes colour and brightens the atmosphere, the rain stops and I quickly rushed to take my bath, dressed up and dashes out for my appointment.
I reached the farm at about 11:20am (GMT +1), I spent almost an hour on the road due to delays. When I got to the site, the owner was already done with morning chores. I used the little time I got to check out the place.
The Farm Building
The farm site is very clean and conducive. It is a big environment and nice place for business. The security is top notch as the owner of the farm installed cameras in each of the building. The whole building is fenced and gated.
Inside the building there are several pens, there is pig pen, fish pen, poultry pen( Broilers and layers), turkey pen etc. Let me update you with some
Pig pen
The pigs as you can see are always clean and looking very healthy. The pen is swept clean daily to avoid disease infestation.
Broilers pen
This is where my consultancy service was needed. There is an outbreak of disease in the farm. The birds are not looking healthy and some of them are dying as you can see in the picture. Thus, I took time to educate the manager of the pen on the impending problem and provided some solutions to help slow down the mortality in the farm. I guess my work is done. So I returned home although I didn't have time to visit other pens.
