A Story of Myths and Legends : The Veilwalker's Gate

Long time ago, there was a myth going on in the human world that there is a gate which leads to another world but you have to pay a huge price.
Everyone took it as just a joke that it never existed and it will never exist, but who could have known that there is a supernatural gate in the supernatural world where wolves, vampires, fairies and witches lived. In the supernatural world there is something called Mate( which is someone who is destined to be with you forever), the moon goddess whom everyone worships has a grudge against the Veilwalker named Malrik a very mysterious man, his power and knowledge unmatched, a legend who has lived for a thousand years guarding his gate with no mate.
The moon goddess named Aurora is the one in charged of giving people their destined mate, and due to the grudge she has against the Veilwalker, she intentionally gave him a human mate(Alicia). How will the mysterious and devilish Veilwalker go against all odds and be with his mate? Will his human mate be able to melt his heart or will he lose her to his enemies?
“Alicia’s POV”
My life is so messed up and today is another day to face this hell of a world, I lost my parents a ghastly car accident when I was 18 and now I am 20 working different parts of time jobs to go to school and make ends meet. The only thing I like doing is reading novels and being in the library, Atleast I can be in my imaginary world for free.
(Alicia went to a cafe to get a coffee and just sit to look at the busy road before going to her part time work then she overheard some teenagers being excited and talking about the supernatural world)
One of the teenagers said “I would love to see the supernatural world, I heard everything there is so pretty and their way of living is so unique”
Another one said “how good will it be to see the supernatural world, but I was told by my granny while I was young that to go to the supernatural world you have to pay a huge price to the guardian of the gate called Veilwalker (bends to talk in a lower tone) and I heard once you go there you will never be able to go back to your world no matter what you see”
Alicia overheard them and scoffed “if there was such a thing I would have gone there to escape from this my life maybe things will be better there, but it’s just a lie nothing else”
(Unknown to Alicia that her fate is entwined with this supernatural world and she will be going there sooner than she expects)

“Aurora’s POV”
“How dare the Veilwalker talk to me like that and humiliate me that I am just a goddess with no power?” I said angrily.
“Your highness, you need to calm down. The Veilwalker is just saying it and he doesn’t mean it, please don’t take it to heart” says one of my subordinate.
“ I don’t care for his reason why he humiliated me, a whole goddess and I will show him what I can do since that’s the only way I can prove my power and he can never defy fate”. “I hereby bound Malrik the Veilwalker together with Alicia a human” I smirked and laugh inwardly thinking of how crazy Malrik will react because soon enough he will be leaving his gate to attend to his mate.
“Malrik’s POV”
“Why do a fairy wants to leave to the human world?, you should know that you will never be able to come back” I said looking at the shaking fairy in front of me, well I do not blame her because of my dark aura no one wants to look me in the eye.
“Please I will pay whatever you want” said the fairy
“Give me your powers as a fairy and you will also become a normal human with your memory erased” I said.
“I am fine with anything I just want to go away from the demon I called Mate” said the fairy
(Between a minute the fairy passed through the gate and was transported to the human world)
After a while, one of Malrik informant came to him to report to him what the goddess has said.
Malrik got very angry and scattered a lot of things, he wished he could get rid of this goddess but he can’t, all he can do is accept it and wait for a perfect day to do his revenge.
“Alicia’s POV”
I don’t know why everything feels so wrong today, everything is so bad I even got fired from one of my part time job over a silly excuse. I am tired of this life!! I cried and keep going into the woods for as long as my legs could carry me, maybe I can just die and get eaten by a wolf.
I got lost in the woods, while crying I noticed a blue light shining not far away from me and curiosity got the best of me, I walked towards it and until I was stand in front of something that looked like a portal. I was scared and wondered what it was, I want to leave but something keeps drawing me in.
The next moment I found myself in another place, very dark and eerie. I felt something at my back, I turned behind and what I saw scared me so much, it was an ugly looking monster with red eyes and very taller than I am, the monster was ready to attack me when I noticed someone came and waved his hand then the monster went away, I was surprised and scared at the same moment because of this man in front of wearing a veil and his blue eyes look like it is staring right into my soul.
“How dare a lowly human set foot into my territory?!” Said the man in a scary tone that makes me want to obey and also get closer to him at the same time. “I don’t know how I got here I just saw something that look like a portal and found myself here” I answered truthfully.
This is the Veilwalker’s territory and to go back to your human world or to stay here, you must pay a huge price” said the man. I was shocked that the Veilwalker truly exists and if this is the Veilwalker then am I in the supernatural world??
Malrik’s Pov
I keep looking at this beautiful human in front of me, but she start looking like a ghost the moment I told her this is the Veilwalker territory, she must have heard a lot about here. Part of me doesn’t want to let her go and part of me feel bad for this human coming here but I don’t care about feeling, I care only about my benefits or is this the human that the Goddess gave me as a mate?
“What is your name?” I asked
“My name is Alicia” she answered looking scared as if I will devour her at any moment
Alicia? That’s my mate? This is bad.
“Give me your memories as a price if you want to go back” I said
To my surprise she said “I don’t need to go back, the human world is too painful for me please I can stay as a slave or anything for you here please just let me stay”. I felt bad for her and what might have happened to her, I don know why I am feeling this way but she is the only one that makes me feel this way and I don’t need this kind of feelings, it’s bad.
“Well then stay as a maid for me here, be careful not to walk around because the demons here will tear you apart the moment they see you” I said
And the way she quickly jumped and was so scared made me smirked, but she tripped on a stone and step on my veil, I quickly hold onto her before she fall down. But my face was already seen by her.
“Alicia’s POV”
I have never seen a man as handsome and majestic as he looks, he blue eyes fitting perfectly for his kind of godly like face. I found myself looking deep at his face for a while. “Done staring?” He asked and removed his hand from holding me. I blushed and felt myself connected to this mysterious man, I want to know more about him. Well I guess my stay here will be worth it.
(Few weeks passed that Alicia has been gone from the human world, no one asked about her and they act like she never existed. But Alicia was already enjoying her stay in the supernatural world with Malrik, she couldn’t help falling for the mysterious man that looks handsome and dangerous at the same time)
“Malrik’s Pov”
Walking towards the garden and I saw Alicia playing with butterflies in the garden, her smile is so beautiful and I hope to see more of it. Wait what? Did I just hope to see more of this human? Am I falling in love with her?
I walked toward her and she suddenly stop playing and bowed her head.
“You can be free around me I don’t mind” I said
“Wow are you for real?” She asked and jumped on me
My body stiffed for a while and she quickly apologized and said she was too happy. But surprisingly I didn’t get angry, instead I feel like touching her more. I move closer to her, and she kept moving backward till her back touch the wall, I look deep into her eyes then her lips. The next moment I found myself kissing her, and next was history.
(The next few days for Malrik and Alicia was full of love, it was very beautiful to love each other with no concern but none of them knew that danger is coming)
“Alicia’s POV”
I am glad to be with Malrik officially, all I wish for is a family with him but why do I feel like this might not happy anytime soon. I hope things work well for us, while thinking in my own imaginary world I heard noises outside. My mind was against going but I was curious, I got there to see different kind of beauties and demons, with people that looks like they had fangs like those vampire pictures I have always seen or are they vampires?! But I heard Malrik is not on good terms with others so what is going on?!
Before I could process anything, one of the vampires came to me at a fast speed and said “oh you are his little human mate, well you are beautiful but unfortunately you are going to die with your mate today” I tried to run but he grabbed me on my neck, my mind was on Malrik and good enough the next moment he appeared….
Malrik’s Pov
I heard noises outside and got out, only to see a lot of my enemies outside. The only thing I was scared of has happened, I saw one of the vampires holding my mate. I want to go and meet her but I was outnumbered, I kept fighting and i got wounded and my power kept weakening, I looked up to see my mate struggling with her life just when I was thinking that my life will soon be over and so as my mate life too. A lightning struck from the sky and the moon goddess appeared, I was angry.
“Oh save yourself the stress Malrik, I am just here to help because I don’t want you to die so soon. I had fun watching you and your little human mate” said Aurora
What she did next shocked me because I thought we are enemies. She commanded the people that are fighting against me to retreat and never come back, they slowly started going away and throw me deadly glares but I know that that is not the end.
Then the moon goddess vanished into thin air, I struggled to my mate side and she was looking lifeless. I was so sad and I wish I can do something to help and make her look okay. Then I remembered I have gather some powers throughout my life, I transferred some to her. Hopefully she will wake up as immortal and we can live happily together. I carried her inside with struggle, I lost some powers and I was wounded but my wound will heal in minutes all I need is rest.
I slept and woke up to my side empty, I started panicking maybe my mate has been kidnap, but when I looked up at the window I saw her smiling at me. I was so happy and for the first time i wish to have a family with her. I walked up to her and hugged her, with her by my side maybe my life wouldn’t be so dark anymore.
