A warm greetings to everyone and welcome to my blog. I am here again to participate in @benton3 drawing contest "Drawing Rhinoceros".

Drawing materials

√ A sheet of paper.
√ Pencil with eraser.

Step by step procedures

Step 1

I drew the long and short horn of the rhinoceros.

Step 2

I drew the eyes, nose after which I drew the mouth and the ears of the rhinoceros.

Step 3

From one part of the right ear, I drew the upper curvy body down to the back side of the leg.

Step 4

I completed the legs together with the feet.

Step 5

I drew the tail of the rhinoceros then I did a light shading and finally I drew a little grass near the rhinoceros.

Have you ever seen one?

No, I haven't seen rhinoceros physically before but I've seen it in a television channel "Nat Geo Wild".

What type of animal is it?

Rhinoceros are large mammalian mega herbivores in Africa that has one or two horns on its nose. This animal can be found in the tropical grassland and also in the forest.

What are it's characteristics?

This animal possesses one horn, incisors and lower canines. Baby rhinoceros are born without horn because their horn are not made with bone rather is made of keratin which makes it grow as they are growing.

Some species of rhinoceros has a brief courtship period before mating and that period happens to be the only period you can see the male and the female walking together. On the other hand, some of them does not have time for courtship, they only come together to mate.

Rhinoceros is know for their brutal fighting especially between males, sometimes the cause of the fight might be for the right to mate the female ones. They have poor eyesight which makes them rely only on their hearing and sense of smell. Their lifespan is usually between the range of 30 to 30 years in the wild.
