It's that time of the year again when we celebrate our mothering Sunday. But we normally begin the celebrations a week before the D day. It is called "Women's Work Week" This week is always filled with lots of fun activities for women. Let me update you on one of the eventful days of our week.

My day began very well for me after my morning routine, I set off to Our Cathedral, where every woman from different church circuits is to assemble for the day event. The event begins with an opening prayer and an opening speech from the Archbishop's wife.

After that, all Circuit heads were asked to come and pick numbers; this number enabled you to know when you were to come for your presentation because it was like a competition, although just for fun. My Circuit picked number 8, so for every presentation of the day we were to come in on number 8 so we had enough time to rehearse and relax before it got to our turn.

The competition includes March Past, Choral Speaking, Quiz and Singing. The activity for the event kickstarted with a march past display by each group.

It was a colourful one as everyone looked their best,
Next was the choral speaking. In Choral speaking we were all given the same chapter of the Bible to learn and come recite it with demonstrations and in uniformize. Each group came and presented theirs.

The next activity was the Choir/Singing competition; each group came for their presentation, and just like the choral speaking, we were all given the same song to practice for the competition day. We all did justice to the song.

It was a joyful moment for everyone, we had food and drink as every group came with their own food. This week is always filled with fun and excitement. We all look forward to it every year and don't want to miss it.

Finally was the quiz competition; each group had two representatives for the quiz while others cheered them up. At the end of the day's event, my group won two trophies, which were for coming first in the Choral speaking and quiz competition. It was an enjoyable event.
