To the amazing community of Steem4nigeria, the host of this contest; @xkool24 and my readers.
I'm back again with my Neighborhood report, about The Lightless Days in Uyo

- Just recently, a severe wave of panic swept through Uyo city as the power supply suddenly disappeared without any warning. For days, there was a total blackout almost everywhere in uyo, except for few axis that their case was different. This leavw people in confusion and anxiety of what next to hear. Many people did wondered, “Has the national grid failed again?”, this very question was what keeps echoing from my mind and the streets to the social media platforms.
The power outage that occur was not just a slight disruption 🚫. It affected most of the entire Uyo, Ikot ekpene, uruan metropolis, and the struggle to power up devices began once again. Phone calls did flooded in from different areas, each asking me the same thing “Do you have light over there?” But i sadly responded *“No.”
Many Shop owners, business people, and corporate firms were hit so hard. Forced to now spend extra cost on petrol ⛽, they run their generators just to help stay operational. Even my schools weren’t left out in this. Many Students arrived with extensions and power banks, hoping to certainly charge their devices, only to be disappointed, except when departments or the faculty managed to switch on their own generators.
From Day 1 to Day 2 and into the Day 3, still, no official memo came out to explain more on the cause. It was obviously a period of uncertainty. People kept hoping, waiting, and also calculating their fuel expenses. The official memo 📝 surface on Day 4. telling about the cause of power failure.
- Then,l today, we received a sign of relief. At last, light returned to parts of the city, though not all areas. My area: Abak Road, Fidelity Axis had restoration of light. The joy on people’s faces was so unmatchable. Some of my Neighbors, mostly business owners came out, smiling and talking. But just as everyone was all basking in the return of power, NEPA officials arrived! this time, with bills. It felt like more like a bitter-sweet moment. After enduring this total darkness and unexpected fuel expenses, we were now being asked to pay bills for even days we didn’t enjoy light.

Anyways, in a country like mine, there's no other two way because we still have to pay the bills.
And that’s just how it all went, Real, Raw, Unfiltered. And sadly, this too common in our current Nigeria. As a neighborhood, I hope for the better days if possible there will be one, where our communication is timely and the services are fair.
I invite @emmalex25, @rossnenye and @presh001.
