My Neighborhood Watch #84 - Reporting Events Around us
In my little neighborhood this week, something I'll identify to be remarkable happened that touched my heart so deeply. My dear neighbors, who I see as just like parents to me, packed up and moved to their very own home!
These very wonderful people have always been so incredibly kind by helping me with my studies, providing some academics materials, sharing food, supporting me with house bills, and giving me the most caring advice always. So on hearing from them they're packing out, I was a bit depressed because I'll missed them a lot amd so not leaving all the works for them, I joined in helping to packed and off load their Lodgages.
- On a very bright Sunday which was 19th January, I was thrilled to help them pack up their belongings to a vehicle they brought. Together, we all carefully loaded their precious household items - the refrigerator, the electric cooker, the washing machine and many other treasures than to be mentioned into their moving vehicle. I really felt so proud to assist them after all, seeing this as my special way of saying "thank you" for all their love and support tgey shared with me.

The Journey to a New Home |
---|
We all traveled together to their new residence at Use Offot off Nwaniba Road in Uyo. I joined too in unloading everything, making sure that each item found its perfect spot in the kitchen, the store, rooms, and living area as well at where it supposed to be. It was a pleasure for me to now know exactly where they live, so I can visit them whenever I want.

My Compound Transformations |
---|
Now Just some few days running in the week after their move, some interesting changes all began in our compound. The landlord of our compound started working on the rooms my neighbors used to occupy. He ordered the workers he brought to removed the old wooden doors and installed a strong iron warehouse door. The windows were all carefully closed with cement blocks, and the inner walls were modified too. What used to be two separate rooms is now one big space - it now looks like it might become a store or warehouse in the future as I'm seeing.

Improvements All Around |

The workers also did an excellent job by fixing the gutter to ensure a proper drainage, and they made too many other improvements to our compound. Many new pipes were laid, and the ground was leveled to prevent water pooling too.

My Emotions and Reflections |
---|
As I watched all these very changes, I felt a bit mix of feelings. I was at first sad to see my dear neighbors move, but again also happy that they now have their own beautiful home and rent wahala is gone. Life is full of changes, and so sometimes these changes can be both exciting and sometimes a little bit sad.
My Lessons Learned |
---|
This very week taught me more that love isn't just about the big gestures, but also about the small acts of kindness - like helping friends to move, supporting each other academically, financially or emotionally, and being there when someone needs us. The bond I did share with this family really goes beyond just being neighbors, they are truly like a second family to me guys.
And that ends my neighborhood story for this week - "a tale of love, support, and new beginnings!"
