Many Scamper For Fafety As A Compressed Natural Gas Truck Explodes In Abuja On Thursday Night
Fire incidence has been a reoccurence which requires serious measures to contend with. It has dealt so much to people and businesses leading to loss of several lives and properties.
Fire outbreaks seems to be occuring without control. Fire outbreaks does not just happen at homes only. It also involves vehicles loaded with flammable substances which may go into flames that could burn people and properties beyond recognition.
It was a catastrophic situation on thursday night as as explosion occured on popular road in the FCT Abuja. The explosion was so massive that it enveloped several other vehicles leaving and others severely injured.
Close sources to the inferno reports that that the tanker blasted for 3 times and sent a very thick smoke into sky. Seeing the thick smoke, there was panic among the onlookers and other vehicles that ran for their safety.
Those who sustained several degrees of injuries in during the explosion which occured on the karu bridge in Abuja, were quickly rushed to the National hospital and the hospital in Asokoro, Abuja the federal capital territory.
The explosion occured at about 7:45 pm and involved a compressed natural gas (CNG) truck alongside other several vehicles which left many people dead to gether with other vehicles that are involved in the inferno.
The incidence was further confirmed by the head of forecasting response and mitigation division of the federal emergency management agency (FEMA), who stated that the incidence occured when the diver of the CNG truck lost control and then hit other vehicles along the bridge.
The presidential CNG initaitive have expressed their sadness over the incident and siad it is still commited to ensure that safety standards are enforced while using CNG as a cleaner energy source.
The explosion caused severe damages to properties and emergency services working hard to control the situation and save the victims .
The minister in charge of the FCT have promised to offset the medical bills of those injired and rushed to hospital.
