This is my entry to the contest, "Contest; My Knowledge of Steemit," in the Steem4Nigeria community. Compared to other social media platforms, I believe steem is a great platform for gaining knowledge and improving our creativity.

01. What makes Steemit different from other social media sites?
Compared to other social media, people do not post anything. The posts on steemit are more creative than those on other social media platforms. Also, users gain rewards in STEEM tokens.

02. How do users earn rewards on Steemit?
The users can basically earn rewards through content creation and curation.
Content creation is the original content creation. The other users upvote on these posts and then earn STEEM tokens. The more upvotes help to gain more rewards.
Curation: Users who upvote quality content early also earn a share of the rewards. This is another method of gaining rewards.

03. How does the community help content creators?
The most popular method of helping content creators is to arrange this kind of valuable content within communities. Also, upvoting helps to motivate content creators since it accelerates the reward.

04. Why is blockchain important for Steemit?
Blockchain is an important technical feature that controls and maintains the Steemit platform.
Blockchain helps to maintain decentralized control over the Steemit platform. Also, blockchain helps to maintain transparency on this platform, making every transaction, post, and reward record on the blockchain.

05. What do upvotes and downvotes mean for posts?
Upvotes improve the visibility of a post and improve the rewards for a post. Also, the downvotes reduce the visibility of the post. Normally, downvotes are used for low-quality and abusive posts.

06. How can users get more attention on their posts?
In the Steemit platform, it is necessary to get more attention to the posts. There are several things to do on the content creators' side, such as creating high-quality and creative content and using the appropriate tags to make the post reach for the relevant groups. Also, creators have to engage with other creators, then the other creators would help to improve the visibility of the posts.
