A New Year resolution is a goal you set for yourself at the start of the year to improve or change something about your life. It usually comes from taking a step back, reflecting on what you want, and deciding to make things better m. For example, getting fitter, learning a new skill, or breaking a bad habit. One important thing worthy of note is that a new year resolution is less about being perfect and more about starting fresh and making progress in the areas that matter to you.

I think New Year resolutions can be a viable way to achieve goals, but only if approached the right way. The problem isn’t the push of setting resolutions—it’s how people go about it. Most times, they’re either too unrealistic, overly ambitious, or lack a clear and detailed plan to back them up.

The missing link I will always raise up is Consistency and accountability. Most People start strong with their resolutions but lose focus because they don’t break their goals into smaller, manageable steps or track their progress. It’s really not enough to set a goal—you have to commit to showing up for it daily, even when motivation seems to be no where close.
