The Diary Game || 28-05-2025 || Watching Conference League Final After Work At The Site.

Dear Diary,

Wednesday was another successful day at the construction site, and I was happy. It was also an exciting day as Chelsea Football Club was playing in the Conference League final against Real Betis. As a die-hard Chelsea fan, I was rooting for them to win the match, and working at the site helped me stay focused because I was very nervous. Without further ado, let me take you through my successful and exciting day....

I woke up at 6:00 a.m. when my father knocked on my door, calling me to join the family for our morning devotion. We spent some time examining the scriptures and praying together before heading off to our various destinations. After the devotion, which helped me focus for the day, I quickly freshened up in preparation for work.

By 8:00 a.m., I was ready to head to the construction site. I called my boss to request transportation fare, and once I received the money, I headed out to the nearest junction to meet my colleague. We then moved to the site together, and since it was relatively close, we arrived after just a 7-minute drive.

Upon arriving at the site, I quickly changed into my work clothes and began selecting the POP sponges. Once that was done, I tasked someone to fetch the necessary equipment and materials I needed. I then started molding some ceiling planes for the day's work. I particularly enjoy working with ceiling designs, especially when using high-quality cement that dries fast, making my job easier.

Since the water pump needed for tapping the line wasn't available at the moment, I took the opportunity to mould as many ceiling planes as I could. Shortly after, the water pump arrived, and my colleagues climbed onto the scaffold to tap the line and start fixing the ceiling planes I had moulded. To get a straight and accurate fixing, we used ranges, binding wires and rope.

As work progressed, we unfortunately ran out of the POP sponge used for the Ceiling work. I had to call my boss to report the situation, and he instructed me to pick up more supplies at the junction near the site. I expected to take a bike from the junction to the site, but my boss didn't provide transportation fare😢.

As a result, I had to carry the heavy POP sponge on my shoulder all the way from the junction to the site😢. Passersby on the way couldn't help but stare as I carried the heavy load, with some even laughing at me. Hmmmm, I couldn't help but think it would have been better to hire a motorcycle to transport the load. I was really tired and exhausted, but I had no choice but to press on.

Upon arriving at the site with the heavy load, my colleagues teased me about the weight of the materials. I quickly got back to work, selecting the POP sponge I had just brought, so that work could continue. With enough sponge material on hand, we were able to start working immediately, and I was pleased with our progress.

By around 2:00 p.m., I was feeling hungry and tired since I hadn't eaten since morning. I took a break to look for a nearby restaurant where I could get a meal. I found one and ordered afang soup, a well-known favorite of mine. I really enjoyed the food, and after eating, I felt rejuvenated and energized. I headed back to the site and continue working.

After working tirelessly for about 4 hours, we were all exhausted at the construction site. With the final Conference League match between Chelsea and Real Betis on my mind, I decided to bid farewell to the site for the day by taking a selfie.

After a quick refresh, I hopped into a taxi and headed to my favorite viewing center. With the match scheduled to start at 8:00 p.m., I arrived at 7:30 p.m. to secure a good spot. I settled in comfortably, charged my phone, and snacked on chocolate biscuits while waiting for the Chelsea vs. Real Betis match to kick off.

At exactly 8:00 p.m., the center referee blew the whistle, and the match began. Real Betis played a clean game, with their midfielder Isco standing out. At the 9th minute, he delivered an assist to their number 10, who scored against Chelsea. I was furious and disappointed, as I had been rooting for Chelsea to win the Conference League and make history as the first club to win all European trophies. In the end of half-time, Real Betis emerged victorious with a 1-0 win.

The game transformed dramatically in the second half. Chelsea equalized and went on to win 4-1, with Enzo, Jackson, Sancho, and Caicedo scoring the goals. Cole Palmer, my favorite Chelsea player, provided some excellent assists. I was overjoyed, jumping with excitement as Chelsea emerged victorious. When the final whistle blew after 90 minutes, Chelsea was crowned the Europa Conference League champion, making history as the first team to win all European trophies.
