The Diary Game || 13-01-25 || Staying Fit and Sealing Deals: A Showroom Duplex Contract Win.
Dear diary,
January 13th turned out to be an extraordinary day, one that I'll cherish for a while. It began like any other, with my regular fitness routine and a relaxing morning at home and some chores later in the evening. But as the day unfolded, it transformed into a truly blessed one. Thank you Jehovah.🙏🏾
The highlight of my day was securing my first contract of the year. I'm still beaming with joy, and I couldn't wait to share the news. Before receiving the exciting call, I had started the day with a productive fitness session with Coach @ngoenyi. In the following post, I'll take you through the details of my wonderful day, complete with words and pictures. Here's how it all began.....
Morning Session 🌅
I woke up bright and early on Monday morning, eager to start my daily fitness routine. Before heading out, I began with a 5-minute prayer, followed by a quick freshening up and dressing in my workout attire. With my headset securely in place, I set off on the 15-minute jog to the training field, drawing inspiration from the motivational music playing in my ears. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the team already immersed in their workout, and I enthusiastically joined in.
We engaged in a rigorous full-body exercise regimen, targeting core strength, six-pack abs, and stronger legs and arms. I'm always impressed by our team's spirit, as everyone strives to complete their programs to the best of their ability. Although I personally faced some limitations due to my health condition, I gave it my all. After an hour-plus of intense exercise with StayFit, we wrapped up with some refreshing stretches, bringing our day's fitness routine to a close.
On our way back home, my coach and I ran into some teammates browsing through a selection of sports wear to upgrade their old gear. The vendor had an impressive array of stylish and fitted sports clothing, so Coach took a moment to pick out a few items. I waited patiently nearby, allowing her to make her selections. We parted ways after Coach finished her shopping. She headed in her direction, while I continued on to my house to unwind and rest my muscles after the morning's exercise.
Upon arriving home, I unwound with a warm bath and then served myself a delicious meal of Aditan soup with garri. This was shaping up to be the highlight of my day. As I savored each bite, my phone rang. It was my engineer, bearing exhilarating news, "Allison, we've been awarded the contract at Itiam Bus Stop!!!". I was overjoyed, leaping from my seat in excitement. My meal forgotten😁, I rushed to the proposed site to meet our clients, eager to get started.
As I arrived at the site, I was greeted by my co-engineer and laborers, who were busy dismantling the old structure. I was impressed by the client's enthusiasm, evident in the swift demolition work. Our client aimed to build a stylish showroom duplex for his boutique business, and as the draftsman, I had been tasked with designing a compact and unique space, carefully optimized for his limited plot.
Afternoon Session🕐
Before diving into the design, I needed to satiate my growling stomach. The unexpected call had interrupted my breakfast, so I purchased a plate of delicious salad rice with fried plantain from a young vendor. The meal, though modest in portion, was outstanding in flavor and value for its 1,000 naira price tag (approximately 2.5 STEEM). The talented young chef had truly outdone himself.
After lunch, my client arrived and took us to one of his existing buildings, expressing his desire to replicate the same front elevation and entrance design for our upcoming project. I carefully documented the building's features, taking photos and noting the dimensions to ensure I met his expectations and those of my team. With the necessary references in hand, I requested to present the drawings later that day for review. With the site visit concluded, I headed back home.
Before returning home, I caught up with Ma'am ngoenyi regarding my customized T-shirt for the inspiring "A Child, A Million Smiles Project". She mentioned she was nearby, so I swung by the junction to collect my T-shirt. It was a pleasant surprise to meet her husband, @benton3, as well. I'm excited to be part of this remarkable initiative, which aims to spread joy among children while promoting Steemit through charitable endeavors. With its launch just around the corner, I'm confident it will be a groundbreaking event.
Upon arriving home, I eagerly tried on the T-shirt to ensure a perfect fit. I was thrilled to discover it matched my size exactly. What impressed me most about the garment was its lightweight, breathable material, making it easy to wash and quick to dry. Feeling satisfied, I wore it around the house, getting a head start on the excitement building up to the "A Child, A Million Smiles Project" launch in just a few days.
Evening Session🌃
Monday's evening took an unexpected turn when I realized we had no electricity or generator fuel, hindering my progress on the drafting work. Undeterred, I reached out to a close friend to inquire about the power situation in his area. Fortunately, he confirmed that he had electricity, so I packed my laptop and essential tools and headed to his place. With minimal distractions, I activated my phone's "Do Not Disturb" mode and immersed myself in the design process.
The showroom duplex design is nearing completion, and I'm thrilled to be making progress. As a draftsman, I take pride in my work, and moments like these remind me why I love what I do. That wraps up my eventful Monday, a day filled with its share of challenges and accomplishments.
