How does Steemit connect people from different places?

Steemit is a global village on a blockchain chain filled with people from all walks of life and from different localities, states, countries, tribes, cultures, and religions.

Steemit is a social media network that’s different from the others. The first time I heard about steemit, I didn’t believe anything like it ever existed because it was totally different from what I have known all my life. I actually thought it was a scam until I became part of the system and It’s been amazing.

Steemit connects people from different places by allowing users to get signed up and become part of the community and to interact with each other in a unique way through making contents, comment engagements and upvoting one another.

What makes you feel part of the Steemit community?

I feel that am a part of the Steemit ecosystem basically because of the communities which I belong to that are perculiar to me. The upvote and support from the communities, individuals and the curators makes me feel accepted.

With time, I have handled some responsibilities such as being a community curator and also serving as an MOD is the communities is a sign of acceptability and really makes me feel at home. And I look forward to doing more.

Why is supporting each other important on Steemit?

No man is an island and no man is self made. We all need one another to grow. We rise by lifting others. None of us would have been where we are today is someone didn’t introduce us to steemit, guide us and help us grow.

Supporting one another is needful as it helps us to grow, and push ourselves the more. Supporting one another would help us to be strong in the face of challenges and discouragement and it would help us build our reputation and steem power which in turn builds our influence in the community.

Steeming can be discouraging especially when it seems the support is not coming much but if we are there to help each other, we would all excel.

How can we help new users feel welcome?

We can help the new comers to feel welcome through engagement with them. Encouraging them to be patient and consistent will also go along way.

Teaching and guiding them through the rules and regulations of the platform would help them settle in better and also endeavor to upvote their good posts in the little way we can.

They can be encouraged to ask questions and interact with other user especially the older ones. It’s better to ask for guidance and get it right than to assume they know it all and make mistakes. They can also try to get involved in physical meetups and also the virtual groups as this would help strengthen their resolve and commitment and help them learn faster.

Steemit is a great place to be in and all its benefits cannot be contained in a page. Am glad to be here.
