Hi Friends,

I am delighted to participate in this contest organised by @xkool24. Here is my contribution of what happened in my community.

My friend received a phone call from one of his neighbors in a new site that was still under construction. The man told him that some thieves had stolen our borehole pumping machine. After he dropped the man's call, he contacted me to accompany him to the site. Unfortunately, when we reached the place, we found out that they had damaged the iron cage we used to cover the bore and carted away the pumping machine. My friend was moody and disorganized at that moment, and I could see that from his eyes. We reported the case to the nearby police station that our property was stolen.

Before that, there was a security man guarding a big man's house. We discussed the issue with him. He mentioned that one of our neighbors borrowed a hose from him, wanting to use it for their housework. At the same time, he heard the sound of a generator, indicating that they had been using our bore without informing us. We narrated the scene to the police station. We Included those workers who do the housework using our bore without informing us.

The police called the man in charge of the house to meet them at the station. The man refused to come. They called him like 10 times, still he didn't report to the station. One policeman visited the crime scene and told us that we should permit him to bring the iron cage to their office so that it can serve as evidence. When we reached the station, we met the Divisional Police Officer (D.P.O). She said we are going to pay 20,000 naira, which is about 40 steem. Imagine a police officer who is supposed to protect citizens requesting for money. We negotiated the amount, but we later gave them 5,000 naira, which is about 10 steem.

She said the case just started, which means we are going to pay more for that. After two days, we waited and received no calls from the police station. So we just decided to forget the case. The following day, we went to the station to collect our cage. We signed documents indicating that we came for the collection of the iron cage.

I would like to invite @eno-obong0, @wuddi, and @ruthjoe to come and join me in this contest.

Thanks for reading through my post
